As said above, the wii u basically didn't even make use of that camera. I don't know of anything that has made use of it. Why would the switch need one? I'm genuinely curious why you think the switch needs a Cabrera and what for?

Literally the only game I even know of that used it was Nintendo land, and that was so that you could bare your nosehairs at your friends.

The right JoyCon has a camera ;)
IR sensor. Not remotely like a camera.

Count me among those that are glad they didn't bother with a camera on Switch. They know it's not a device meant to replace your cell phone, it's for gaming.

I guess since no one ever used it they forgot WII U HAS VIDEO CHAT APP ON IT. You can use it to video chat with your wii u friends. But yes, it made minimum use of it outside of that, and mii maker face recognition, few games used it to put your face on the screen.

Everyone forgot about it because no one used it to begin with.

The Wii U Gamepad's camera was never even used for anything useful. It didn't even have a camera app. Why would the Switch need a camera?
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT MON?
I love seeing my ugly face while Im chasing my gf in Animal Crossing game of Nintendoland

That's something not needed at all, unless they can make something useful out of it. It didn't happen on the WiiU, what makes you think they will on the Switch?

Even on my 3DS XL, the camera is something I don't ever use at all, I use my 3DS XL for playing (and all my gaming handhelds for that matter), not for taking photos.

I already have a smartphone with a 16 mpx camera, and that's just about enough for me.

They didn't add it because next to nothing ever used it on the systems that did have it. There's really only a handful of games on all of their systems that used the builtin camera and the games sucked. Nintendo realized that this feature was underused and wasn't worth keeping around anymore, so they removed it.
Now a mic would have been a far better option. Even a shitty mic is better than no mic when it comes down to online multiplayer games.
