the backup should be 528MBs or slightly larger than the one made of the slcmpt. that's how mine is anyway. I don't think there's a way to verify it. if it creates a NAND backup, it should be safe.

the slcmpt is the wii NAND. u can back it up with @EyeKey 's tools. it's important to have the full NAND backed up. however, the one made in the virtual NAND is slightly larger by one kilobyte. I'd suggest backing up all three parts of the NAND in case u ever brick or have reason to reflash the NAND.

Thanks for info, i looked at that tool but it says wiiu nand dumper but i am modding my Virtual wii not my wii u

btw, how mouch space approx do i need to dump all 3 parts and does it requier any kind of sigpatches or CFW on wii u since my wii u is completley unmodded only thing i ever used on wii u was browserhax and loadiine on sd card

Again, sorry for stupid questions but i am really noob :)

the mlc is the largest part. the other two partitions r 528MBs apiece. the mlc could be 29.1/.7 if u have a 32GB system (a black wii u). the slcmpt is one of the partitions u can backup. it's the wii partition. the NAND u backup on the virtual wii will be larger by one kilobyte than the one backed up by the wii u NAND dumper.

Thank you for your help, i am now backing up using that eyekey's tool that you suggested, i am backing up everything except mlc since i have 32GB model and my SD card is only 16GB

yeah, u need a 64GB card for the 32GB mlc.

edit: the mlc is the least important of the three. it's for system storage when u install games and whatnot, so it doesn't contain system software.

Good to know that mlc is not as important as others but i will probably get new sd card and backup it just in case something goes to hell since i plan on starting to use wup installer instade of loadiine, so far i used loadiine to play my backups to perserve my original discs but botw takes 10 minutes to even load, its awfull. botw crashed about 4 times today on loadiine, once even when i was saving picture taken using camera.....

btw, just to let you know dumping has finished and i compared it to one made in vwii and it is larger by one kb so i guess its safe to continue modding vwii :)

Thank you for all your help :)

I haven't tried botw on loadiine. the game has like 40,000 files, so it's not worth it. it should run flawlessly using wup installer. I personally installed all games using system config tool, but that won't make a difference. good idea to dump the mlc as well. u don't need it to recover a brick, but it's always good to have. the slc is to recover from a brick, so keep that safe as well as the slcmpt (the virtual Wii's NAND).

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

btw, loadiine's saves r compatible with wup installer's installs. use saviine to inject the save (your botw save). u just need a save on the system to inject it. make a fake save, then inject. good luck.

Yeah, i will keep them safe

by the way, is wup installer method a risk for ban in online games, is there difference if i download games that i own using usb helper or if i download games that i dont own using usb helper any different risk of ban or is it same for both (is there even any risk of ban using wup installer), i personally would only download a game that i own but just asking in case i ever stumble upon a game that im not sure if im gonna like or not so being able to somehow play it abit before buying can sometimes be a good thing

I've only heard of bans for cheating. u can get around that if u r banned by modifying the sys_prod.xml. change the serial number by one, and suddenly you're unbanned. it's a major oversight by Nintendo. there's a tutorial on this on temp.

seems like Nintendo made lot of oversights with Wii U, it is really easy to mod it, after all most of homebrew and cfw loads from sd card to RAM and it's unloaded after restart (if im not mistaken)
