This has been bugging me for ages. My dad got an arcade table cheap from a friend who makes them and there's this one button that doesn't do anything. I've been trying to figure it out for forever. Maybe some of you guys can help. Here's a pic. It's the yellow one on the side.

can't you guys ask the previous owner? or open the table up and see if it's actually connected?

As others have said, it's likely that the button USED to do something. It could be a generic cabinet or a refurbished one that used to house a different set of boards. Based on the table layout, though, and how the button is off to the side, I'd guess that it is a Game Select button that lets you cycle through the various games on it.

If it's a modified cabinet like others have suggested, perhaps at one point that button was used to toggle the service mode? A lot of arcade games have a "hidden" service menu that the owner can call up by pushing a button at any time (though they were typically kept inside the cabinet so the customers couldn't get to it).

Nothing like having the Easy Mod/FreePlay button mounted outside. XD

My dad's not one to bother people about a petty problem. I'll open it up later and see if it's connected. Thanks for the help guys!
