Hi I have a new 3ds xl on 11.3 and i want to know if i can put the boot9strap with that? or how can I update to 11.5 with the arm9l without lose the cfw? i know you can upate the 3ds with b9s because you never gonna lose the cfw via sys update, but i don't know what happen with arm9l anyway if it is not possible it is fine, i don't have problem to stay on 11.3. Thanks!

System updates (e.g. to 11.5) while using Luma3DS are safe whether you're using A9LH or B9S.

If you want to use newer versions of Luma3DS, you need to update to B9S using the above guide.

But it is the same b9s an arm9 or wich one is better? so if i'm on arm9l can i upddate to 11.5 without lose the cfw? or how can i upate just via settings or it is an option on the luma?

Don't do it.
Why?

The upgrade to B9S is recommended. More can be done with it than with A9LH, and, more importantly, it's required for all future Luma3DS updates.

If you're on A9LH and Luma3DS, you can update to 11.5 in the system settings.

Ignore him. He's been trolling random threads with anti-B9S nonsense for days.

Ok thanks! but it is the same to upgrae first arm9l to b9s and then upate to 11.5 and update first to 11.5 on arm9l and then upgrade to b9s or is better on specific way?

yes i do exactly what it say, in the step 1 and 2, I boot my 3ds by holing start and when I press A it check arm9 and it say that on the sighaxed.
It doesn't sound like you followed the guide properly. Make sure boot9strap.firm and boot9strap.firm.sha are in the boot9strap folder on your SD card.

Yeah I check the steps, and i have the files on the boot9strap folder, i'm gonna try to update the luma first, in the files of boot9strap.firm it comes like boot9strap_dev.firm and boot9strap_dev.firm.sha I alreay try like that an i try just boot9strap.firm but it works on both names or it just have to be boot9strap.firm? (I'm gonna try to update luma i think is that)

You downloaded the wrong file, download the regular b9s

The main reason you switch to b9s is because it goes into a deeper part of the 3ds's bootrom which is boot11.A9lh is only using the arm9 bootrom which isn't supported anymore with luma.Using a older luma on a future higher fw can run into issues.

Turn off the 3ds, then turn it on while holding select. If you see Luma 8.1 menu, it was successful
