I spent the better part of the weekend reading up on Wii-U hacking and getting my system all configured. Haven't been in the scene much since hard-modding my original xbox and ps1/ps2 back in the day. I did a lot of work on my original Wii during the week prior and got a ton working before deciding to buy a Wii-U off craigslist. So after experiencing the sweet loaders like CFG USB Loader and USB Loader GX within Wii/vWii, it's a shame not having something similar for Wii-U.
After sifting through years of forum posts and guides from different eras, I finally stumbled onto Wii U USB Helper and have been downloading and installing games from that along with WUP Installer. Pretty awesome. Unfortunately, from anything I've read so far, the only thing you can do is put them into folders. Which I've done. And have been using the menu sort homebrew to sort the stuff.
I can't imagine it would be worth converting all of these games that can be installed via USB Helper to Loadiine? And then dealing with the compatibility issues that loadiine brings with it? The only optimization I can see from what I have now is manually going through the file system with ftpiiu_everywhere and replacing the icons with better ones. Pales in comparison though. I haven't even dabbled with Loadiine yet as I'm still getting the WUP installer stuff going, but from what I've seen it looks like it has a similar type of interface.
Is this what everyone else is doing? Did I miss something along the way?
