What's the deal with FCEumm and FDS games? When I push start, nothing happens, and suspend points don't work. When I load them, it starts the game over. I stick with kachikachi for the 3 FDS games I have (Doki Doki Panic, SMB2 Japan, Zelda no Densetsu)

Due to size limitations of floppy disks used for FDS games, the actual game is usually on side 2 of the disk! So, when you load up, say Doki Doki Panic, for instance, you will get the intro to the game, which I would consider just an attract mode. You cannot start the game from side one of the disk (if the game is not on that side). You have to generally use various combinations, depending on which game you run FDS wise, ie, the video link that follows. For the record, I just tested Doki Doki Panic again, to ensure there were no issues with saving, crashing, or loading. After doing the L1, R1 combination to flip the disk to side 2, it said WAIT, then loaded into the game. I made a save state, exited, and was able to reload right back to the same point. Many games have different nuances, depending on how to correlate to the various emulators. Nazo no Murasame was one that stumped a lot of people. Read the info I posted along with the video. Note, all my FDS games are compressed, command lined, and run with both Nestopia & FCEUMM. A majority of games have run fine for me, save states and all. FCEUMM is a truly excellent emulator. It is one I have been using all the way back since the 1990s. I use JNES on PC, just because of its nice integration of other features and game genie codes, etc. But, FCEUMM has always been a personal favorite of mine. It has been quite reliable.

Has anyone gotten the game Druid (fds) game to work where it is not glitching....the rom defaults to nestopia and looking online was fixed in the nestopia emulator but still glitching on nes mini

The game is fun, the flickering glitch is still present on the FDS version, from my test. MSX version does not work, CPC Amstrad version does not work. ZX Spectrum version works, and was able to be controlled when changing to Sinclair Joystick. A similar, very annoying, flickering glitch was present on Wizards & Warriors III on various NES Emulators. So, for now, looks like ZX is your main way to play this, unless we find a "patched" rom. I tried updating Nestopia core, which could possibly have helped this. But, the current source files are not compatible with our version of RetroArch.

Is there a chance that on the SNES mini you could play NES games?

This entirely depends on whether or not Nintendo left the Micro USB port on the system, and also if those involved with Hakchi2, or anyone else, for that matter...still care enough, at that point, to attempt to get it to run on the mini SNES. My opinion is that Nintendo did the same thing that many companies have done in the past...repackaged parts in new products. The shell may look like a mini SNES, But, the interior, down to the nand flash chip, may be identical, even with the same memory limitations. They may have had X amount of parts for the mini NES systems, and stopped production of the units. But, they still have all the circuit boards, etc, leftover. They would likely use them for the mini SNES, or in a hopeful re-release of the mini NES. If they keep things up, we all know they will HAVE to increase memory, so they can get 21 N64 games onto the 3rd incarnation of a mini System!

Hell, they may not have changed much, and we may be able to just directly connect the mini SNES, and use hakchi2 with it, as is! But, in any case, yes...it is very possible!

No, you would have a "better" chance at upgrading the nand chip, and reflashing the exact kernel onto it, and making it work with the size differential, than usb ability. Being that this whole hakchi2, mini NES thing is really a novelty, and a majority of people have moved on. It is now a very niche thing. There will be a point when people tire of working on it, just like with other emulators, etc. At least with the compression techniques I have employed, the art losslessly reduced, etc, one can really max out the potential of the mini NES, as is:) But, as far as usb connectivity, it would require some major overhaul, in the way of recompiling...It may not warrant the patience of anyone involved. But, yeah, it would be nice! My 30+ GB set would fit nicely on a 32-64Gb Flash Drive!

Beauty and the beast for nes has screen glitch moving up and down on the stock emulator and both nes retroarch cores

Is there a fix for this ?

Play the Genesis or SNES version. Or, you can try the updated fceumm core that I posted in my mega thread. It is in retroarch hmod. Didn't test. But, Beauty & Beast has slight chance of working with the updated core.

This is no good, people will try to flip them on sites like eBay and will say that these are genuine NES Minis.

They won't be able to pretend it comes with a genuine box. Any NES Classic sold without a box (or with a stock photo on eBay) will be suspect.

I'd buy a NES Classic even if it didn't have a box, though I wouldn't pay several grand for it.

That being said I ordered the NES Crassic, in 2-3 months I'll get confirmation on if it actually runs hatchi2 or not - seems some fonts may be off, and the splashscreen is concerning. Plus there's a spinning indicator triangle that seems to be rough running compared to the official OS.

If they can make a 1:1 copy of the console, put all the roms that came with the original on there and even Hakchi on there I think they can make a copy of the box as well. Who knows...

It just does.... All three FDS games I included work great on kachikachi, and save states work with no problem. I just added them as I would a .nes ROM. It's uncompressed, of course.

They DID leave the micro usb on the back. Look at this....

Of course, this was just a mock up at a convention, but here's hoping....
