I was wondering if you could help me in finding a good desktop PC. To be honest I don't know anything about PCs, so making my own PC would not be a good idea? Seems complicated.
Just discovered Steam and wanted to play some games - but my Laptop is not quite the killer, and I don't want it to be a pure game station.

So what do I expect from a good PC? Well.. modern games should not be a problem. I should hold up for a while, space (Maybe about 3 TB) and graphic wise so I don't need to search again in 2 years. Resolution should be 4K if possible, and it should have a Blu Ray disc drive.

Any help would be nice. And sorry if I am too inaccurate, just not good with this stuff.

I feel I need to point something out to you. You've stated that you don't want it to be a 'pure game station', but your requirements are for a pretty powerful gaming machine. 4K gaming requires a powerful vga card/s, especially for modern games. If you wanted to game in 1080P but at very high to ultimate settings, that would be a mid-range gaming machine that would still look far beyond anything in the console games spectrum. You've also stated that you want something that you won't need to look around for again in 2 years. That would require something along the lines of the Geforce 1080Ti which is the current vga card but will likely be outdated within the next 2 years. 2/3 years is about your average these days for vga cards. I have a 980Ti for example and bought it about a year and a half ago and currently it struggles to maximize graphical settings on the most up to date games. So I think you need to rethink about what it is you want, but do consider the fact that 4K gaming comes at a hefty cost. The vga card alone is roughly twice the price of a games console and you will likely pay more for a shop-build. It is far cheaper to learn how to build your own.

I don't know where to start. Is there some kind of help anywhere? A guide?

Your asking a lot I would first ask how much you are willing to spend?

4k gaming in all games even triple A games is going to cost a lot.
Did not know that. About the cost.. I thought about 2.000,00 €, which is probably too low for 4k.

Sorry, I meant my Laptop. I don't want that to be a pure gaming machine. That's the reason I want to have a desktop one.

So building my own seems like the best way. I've got a lot of reading to do, it seems.

Are you going to connect this pc to a monitor or a tv screen? Do you already own a 4k screen?

I spent about 1K and I was able to build a powerful pc that was able to do 1080p 60 fps in MOST games (have to turn down shadows in a few) maybe this would be a better option for you?

I already own a TV that has 4k. So that would not be a problem.

And when did you buy this PC?

About 2 years ago. I got a 970 which was an amazing 1080p card and it still is though the 1070 is much better.

Give me a bit and I will post a guide that will show you how to build a PC.
Hey that would be awesome. Thanks! :-)

Building is easy, I've never built a PC but I've seen my dad building my first one and it was pretty simple.
I'm using a laptop now and have about 251 Steam games... it's not that good, I play most stuff at 1024x768 but it's good enough for me.
I have no money for a new PC and I'm a teen so it's really hard to get money :s

Maybe if I sold my consoles I could get a half decent one, but I dunno man...

I wouldn't sell your consoles unless you don't care abut the exclusive on them.
