Hacking Luma 3DS not working

Hi guys,
I have an old 3ds XL with firmware version 8.1, and I was following the guide at 3ds-guide.com.
The problem is, when I select "show EmuNand in system settings", it gives me "an excpetion occurred", and I can't boot. Even if I delete the config file, it returns in the Luma menu, i select show emunand in system settings and happen the same thing. Also, if I try to boot the 3DS without the SD card inserted, it automatically shut down. I can't even boot the normal system. Some help?

Luma ver: 8.0

luma 8.0 or 8.1? u say both in ur post. I personally haven't updated to 8.1 yet.

the system version (the one of the 3ds) is 8.1
The Luma version is 8.0

oh, ur right! I misread. I suggest updating to luma 8.1 then. it seems to fix a lot of these problems.

you need to copy boot.firm and luma folder to ctrnand

i don't know what do you mean with booting because the system won't boot, just the Luma configurator

What do you mean with copying boot.firm to the ctrnand?
I copied boot.firm in the root of the SD, as well as the luma folder, what's the ctrnand? (I'm a noob in 3ds modding)

If you want to run 3ds withou sd card (you have B9S right?) you have to put boot.firm to ctrnand
ctrnand is part of nand (at least I think )
