Data-To-SD
When I was doing my hard mod I found that the process of cutting open a Micro SD-to-SD is kinda dumb. SO! I made a little PCB Design, it's rough so don't judge it. How it works is you solder to the pins and it pretty much does the whole old, disgusting process, into a clean, nice, green PCB. I'll probably make some and maybe sell them, but I will make sure it's public to print. I'll add the files soon.

P.S Sorry this seems a bit too not serious, but I guess my personality voids that.

I doubt this is a way to communicate with the SD interface.
My thoughts are: Converts Micro SD --> SD , which is useless since most SD cards are actually a Micro SD encased and anyone with a N3DS wouldn't need it alongside the O3DS since it has it's SD ----> Micro SD.

I hope my thoughts are wrong.

So, what's the use for this?
When doing a hard mod you need to slice a micro sd to sd card and solder to the pins, this voids it.

Asking myself the same question but I hope it is what am I thinking of!
It's that.

It isn't, it's for hardmod.

Of course I can still read my normal MicroSD cards and use my nand R/W port on my N3DS , just flick the switch :)

Might be usefull some day.

Since we only need to solder 4 pin on mSD/SD card for hardmod, why not just let only those 4 pin available to solder instead of populating the whole pins on the board?

Many users already mess things up easily, I think letting them only with 4 indentifiable pins would make things kind of "noob-proof". Just my opinion.

i did it with general in thought, but I'll keep that in mind.

even cooler would be a tiny pcb with a SD2USB chip and just a micro USB connector on it for internal installation.
not sure if there's any commercial chips like that available for public sale for low enough prices though. not an electrical engineer but somewhat skilled with a soldering iron.
