I felt like updating Luma so I did that, then I pressed start to reboot. But my 3DS didn't turn back on. When I try to turn it on the blue light comes on for a split second but then it won't turn on. I tried plugging it in thinking maybe it was a power issue but that's not working either.

Update b9s to version 1.2. Redownload luma 7.1, then update b9s, then update Luma to 8.0

How do I do that? can you link me?

EDIT: Nevermind found the newest version of b9s. Just need the older version of Luma now.

Where do I put the b9s files? just on the root of my SD card? do I need the .sha file to?

I don't really get what you're saying because I moved the boostrap9 files on the root of my SD card and I tried holding start but my 3DS still won't turn on. How can I update it when it won't even turn on?
Redownload Luma 7.1, move boot.firm to your SD card root, then update b9s, as Aletron said.

lol sorry my bad.

I installed it but when I start up my 3DS now it says "an error has occured unsupported launcher (argc = 0)

press any button to shutdown"

Did I miss something?
Now download the latest version of Luma. This is explained in the guide I linked you to.

I did but I thought you said get 7.1 so I did. But i'll try the newest one.
Luma 8.0 requires boot9strap v1.2. In order to update to v1.2, you needed to have 7.1 first. Then you're supposed to update.

Ok that seemed to do the trick thanks. Should I back up my NAND again now or does it matter.

I forgot how do I do that again? and is this backing up emunand or sysnand?
You can refer to the GodMode9 usage page for help on creating a NAND backup. The GM9 usage page assumes you followed Plailect's guide to completion, therefore moving any emuNAND you had to sysNAND and removing emuNAND. I'm not entirely sure which one it would backup.
