Is there a reason you actually need 3dsafe? In most cases it's just unnecessary. Also bootctr9 can do animations on the top screen better than bootanim9. Bootanim9 is essentially a dead project until someone picks up the source code left by wolfvak (which was only posted in the bootanim9 thread this past week).
Bootanim9 can do both screens, I know of bootctr9 though and if that ever gets updated for both screens I'll probably use that instead especially if it can use the same files but I'll have to see when it gets there. Both projects are dead and I am hoping someone picks them up as for 3dsafe it's not too important but it adds an extra level of protection ala a screen that can give contact details without actually being a way to bypass unless a hard mod was done and files were needed to be replaced and few people would be able to do that. So no i don't think it was unnecessary as much as a password on your phone or computer is unnecessary it's just there for extra security with some features to manage it. This is how mine looks like with yes I know there's an error in the message but it gets the point across.

I won't update till at least bootanim9 gets updated for b9s but preferably I would like both bootanim9 and 3dsafe to be ported into b9s. It's not because I'm being a rebel or anything just that the 2 coolest things to come out of a9lh are not available yet. Right now there's no real reason to update other than for luma support but that's not the only cfw that's out there. I just want my bootanim9 and 3dsafe QQ.
I wouldn't suggest holding your breath for either of them and unless someone forked the source for bootanim9, they won't be able to port it
https://github.com/wolfvak/bootanim9/releases/latest
Luma3DS already has the system locking and can be copied to the CTRNAND, allowing for the same results as 3dsafe.
Basically you are just wasting your time waiting for those to update when they most likely not going to be updated with B9S support.

Wolfvak did post a zip this past week containing the source for bootanim9 as well as a project that was supposed to replace it in the bootanim9 thread.

Ya, I like 3DSafe too:) I updated anyways, but I do miss it! I did consider staying on 3DSafe, but I wanted to be future ready and I figured it was only a matter of time before it's effectiveness would be circumvented anyways by boot 9, although it hasn't yet:)

Where's Mashers when you need him?

If I had a hard mod i'd try re-installing 3DSafe after Boot9

Why not just use the lock in luma? If you set it on ctrnand as well it should be similar

last I checked, luma payload on ctrnand with pin is circumvented with any other payload loading from an sd card. Has that changed?

even then though, with that in place, you can still reinstall the hack to circumvent.

the idea behind 3DSafe is to present a theif with a broken console and 3 options;
1) return for reward
2) scrap 3ds for parts
3) do nothing

obviously option 1 is the most disireble outcome for both parties.

the concept behing 3DSafe is actually quite clever and it actually offers up a valid reason to do these hacks to a 3DS.

As someone already stated the source was uploaded for bootanim9 but I doubt anyone will pick it up especially since bootctr9 exist and I can only hope that project Continues to evolve. Last time I tried luma pin in ctrnand was when it was first implemented and it was easily bypassed because the SD files took precedent so if someone were to take the 3ds they can look it up and change files on the SD card and voila, but who knows maybe it was updated so it wouldnt override the CTRNAND with the SD one.

And for the record I will gladly support and promote any fork that will keep A9LH !!
don't hold your breath, when b9s is superior in every single way (the FIRM format is great) and again devs don't like working with a9lh, I'm not sure how long cfws will continue working with outdated entrypoints. it only takes a few minutes to switch over and there's zero risk involved. https://3ds.guide/updating-to-boot9strap

Fixed that for you (warning, pessimistic point of view):
the idea behind 3DSafe is to present a theif with a broken console and 4 options;
1) return for reward
2) scrap 3ds for parts
3) do nothing
4) use sighaxed cart to flash OFW / B9S + install Luma, then resell

obviously option 1 is the simplest outcome for both parties, but means less profit to the thief than option 4.

the concept behing 3DSafe is dead since sighax release.
All of this is theorical of course, not much thieves will get the trouble restoring the console, especially since 3DS theft are likely 99% opportunist. But the fact that a determined thief will get to resell my console booting fine no matter what I come up with is a real bummer.
Don't get me wrong tho, sighax release is awesome and a great thing for the scene, just a downside to it :)

I have a problem showing up for the second time. I'm getting crashes when trying to boot EMM games, plus a few other reproducible crashes. Last time, I restored my nand, which didn't help, but then someone suggested I delete my luma config file, and that fixed the issue. Until earlier, I was Wondertrading on Pokemon Sun, after about ten or so, I got a crash, and EMM games are crashing again, and deleting the Luma config didn't work. I'd like to nip this problem in the bud once and for all, but I don't know enough to find the problem

I want to restore my nand to a previous clean prehacked state but keeping b9s, is that posible? I want my activity log looks clean and continue using luma only for layeredfs and I don't need FBI or other stuff ! so this in theory will clean my 3ds and I will only boot luma with those patches, no home menu homebrew app.

Yeah same thing with the hard mod I mention, there was a way to remove 3dsafe but one would have to install a hard mod and stuff but let's be real here whether it's sighax cart or the hard mod not many people would know what to do or want to do that much effort. Also is sig hax cart finally released? Which flash carts can we use?

Yes, I pointed out a few posts back that your point was one of the reasons I upgraded (that boot9 may be able to circumvent 3DSafe in the future), but currently boot9 is unable to circumvent 3DSafe! (pretty impressive):)

Looks like we need a telemetry patch integrated into luma.

It has been discovered that any time you load a cia while online, nintendo is informed.

This seems to be the cause of the banwave.
