Hacking Questions regarding B9S

Hi @ all,

currently i have a N3DSXL with Luma with AL9H and Gateway Emunand on 11.2 FW. Sometimes i use NTR for cheats. I usually never play online.

As GW still does not support 11.3 and higher i can´t update my Emunand.
And it is very sad that Luma does not support AL9H anymore.
I can´t understand why Luma can´t support both or they decided to do so, but it is like it is.
I use Gateway because of cheats and because i want to have more space to store games, it´s just that simple.
I know many people do not like GW, but as i said, i use GW for cheats (that are for example not available for NTR) and simply to have more space for games (internal micro SD and several micro sd´s for GW). And i do not want to buy a new micro sd as i have enough already. On GW i can simply put in another micro sd and store new games or switch them out easily. So please do not let this thread be a discussion why GW or not. I want to use it, it has benefits to me personally. I know the support for 11.3 and higher will come eventually Soon(TM) or simply not, time will tell. I am patient.

So now that you know my setup/situation, this leads to my questions:

1. Can i safely update to B9S without the risk of any brick ? Sure i would use plailects guide (https://3ds.guide/updating-to-boot9strap)

2. Can i safely stay on 11.2 after switching to B9S for my Luma/GW/Emunand Setup and still use GW Mode ? Currently i press d-pad down when booting to get into GW mode.

3. Can i still use NTR Selector when booting to Luma (standard boot method).

4. When updating Luma with the installed updater (cia), it does not update the FW right ?

5. How can i check if i got banned btw ? As i said, i never play online, but i went online because i needed to update NTR Selector and FBI installer.

1, 2, 3, 4 are fine, just don't update your firmware on either sysNAND or emuNAND. 5. Use CTR-httpwn and try to go online in a game.

ok the ban thing is uninteresting for me, as i never play online. if i might be in the future, i will not care until then.
so for question number 2: do i have to take care/actions of anything when using the guide for upgrading to b9s ? i mean, do i have to do something in between or do some addtional steps to have the same setup as of now ?
i remember i had to use another guide here in the forums for setting up gw/emunand to use it with luma.

You'll have to get the Gateway firm file to continue being able to boot into it.

Export all your save files from Gateway using https://gbatemp.net/threads/importing-gateway-saves-to-cia-games.425743/ and then follow the guide as normal. You can install cia versions ten import the save files back.

Firm files for b9s are like bin files for a9lh. You will use it like a Luma payload, same as you're booting into Gateway mode with a9lh now. I don't know where to find it, but Google should help (use site:gbatemp.net).

It's too complicated programmatically for Luma to support both a9lh and b9s.
