Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction of using Steveice10's buildtools in my fork of Luma Updater to change the boot animation when launching a Homebrew CIA? If anyone can help, I would like it if you could PM me instead of trying to talk through this thread.

EDIT: Thank you, @arc13, for your help!

Do we need to be at the latest firmware to format the device?
And NNID is linked to the device correct? So I can just link it again after reformat?

I made a thread for this and tried to look for answers but I never got any. If you look at the following images (inside the links) the text are unreadable or
isn't there at all. While not all games are not like this for me, it's still pretty irritating and might happen on future games?

The games are Rune Factory 4 and Super Smash Bros. This also happened to some sports in Mario Superstars such as Tennis and Golf. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Hi
when reading this guide https://3ds.guide/updating-to-boot9strap
there is this little warning :
"If you have a PIN set on Luma, you must temporarily turn it off to do these steps, or you will get an “OTP Crypto Fail” error. You can re-enable the PIN after the update."

My problem is that i don't know what "a PIN set on Luma" is.

Please help me :tpi:

If you don't know what is it, you probably don't have it.
EDIT: I don't know if the pin Luma let you put prompts the same error

Since Wii U USB Helper can also download 3DS games, how do I use the 3DS files from Wii U USB Helper and install them on a 3DS?

Never mind, got the answer:
After downloading just right click the title under "downloads" in USB helper and select pack/unpack. Then it will ask you where to save the CIA.

Then install the CIA with FBI, I guess. Not sure exactly, haven't even installed CFW yet, but I'm still learning.

Hi I'm currently using Luma3ds+AL9H on and my fw is 11.2 or 11.3. Haven't visit the forum for a while and now there is this new stuff called Sighax and boot9. How do I make the switch over? Most of the guide I read are just people installing a stock 3ds

edit: nvm just found it on the guide page, should I update to 11.4 first or? Also there is no mention of sighax on the page is it not needed?

Finished setting boot9strap (Updated from arm9loader).

I know i can update to 11.4 on system settings, but will this break Homebrew Launcher?

No, if you have an old 3DS then use the 11.2 payload and rename it to 11.4. If you have a new 3DS there is a payload for 11.4.

Im trying to back up my NAND and i open my sd card and it there is a a file caled nand and a file called nand.bin.sha. which one is my nand???

Hi, I got a new 3ds xl in fw 11.2, should I update the firmware or is this the easiest firmware for homebrews? Also is it better to reformat my system and sd card and start from scratch if I don't want to risk account ban? I do have quite a few games bought on eshop, dont mind loosing my saves and re install then from other .cia.

you can just start with https://3ds.guide - don't update before doing it or you'll make it harder to set up cfw/homebrew. no need to format anything.

Hi, i'm Kinda lost,

I tried this evening to flash my 3dsl, using a french tutorial -> http://www.generation-game.com/tuto...ustom-firmware-luma-et-restaurer-sa-nand-3ds/

At that point, i had no idea how complicated it could become.

So i followed the instruction, until i got to the point to Run GodMod9 by pressing power+start, which returned me the FaileD to mount CTRNAND

I panicked a bit because it was not supposed to happen in the step of the tutorial. So I looked deeper, and found a way to force the Godmod by renaming it as "arm9loaderhax_si.bin" and then replacing the backup Of my SysNand I made earlier.

And i dont really know how i ended up completing the installation and i have now the 3ds booting correctly, but i still can't manage to get GodMod to work in order to inject FBI.cia.

I would like to know if its possible to completly reset the 3ds, like a factory reset, so i could try the official tutorial and get a clean installation.

Or if this is not possible, is there another way to install .cia files from the homebrew launcher i can acces from soundhax ?

Thank you for reading and excuse my mistakes.
