Hacking Please i need clarification before i switch to b9

So i have read the 3ds.guide and every post here i just need a little bit of clarification.
Im on o3dsxl.
1. 3ds doesnt need to connect to internet while doing the a9 to b9 update
2. I dont have to delete anything on the sd exept the contents of luma/payloads
3. I stayed on 11.2 because i use gateway for additional storage and cheats, will it still works? At least with hbl gateway.3dsx
