Do you guys think there's a possibility that Nintendo might've fixed this and/or a9lh with the n2DS or nah?
Usually it takes more than 6 or so months to RND a new console. So my bet is that sighax/boot9strap will still work on 2ds. All that would be needed is a hardmod guide for it if that's the case (probably launching with 11.4 firmware)

Well, deleting the failed backup files and running chkdsk /f on my SD card seems to have cleared up my backup errors and allowed me to do the switch from a9lh to boot9strap. So thumbs up there.

One minor thing I am seeing now is that holding start goes straight into GodMode and not ever showing the chainloader menu itself. Anyone else seeing this?

Based on the Luma update log, if you only have one payload it auto-boots that instead of the chainloader

So I just installed B9S just fine (woohoo...so simple) Anyway, because I haven't messed with my 3DS in quite sometime, I am thinking about moving my emunand to my sysnand, that way it will load a tad faster and such.

how would I go about doing that? I don't want to mess up b9s, if that is even possible.

It's answer on the Luma3DS release page. If there are no other payloads, it will boot the only single one directly for you.

The chainloader will now automatically load if there is only 1 option.

That is supposed happen

Just to make sure everything went correctly, is this the correct checksum for the boot9 rom dump?

Code:
File: boot9.bin
CRC-32: e0989f6d
MD4: 5a331d93f584c316250952716f78bc14
MD5: d8675e80e5dd3a9afaaf885d79b14e9c

AFAIK you just dump emuNAND and the restore that dump to sysNAND. someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

So basically, one's just A9LH, the other one's A9LH for nand.

I'll probably just wait until the whole community decides what is best.

@Crystal the Glaceon waiting for your soon-gonna-be-pinned "What is Sighax and Boot9strap? -NOOBS GUIDE-" thread.
You can also copy the boot.firm folder onto your NAND and boot Boot9Strap without an SD card like how you could do with the most recent version of A9LH

Boot9Strap loads firm from sd card. Sighax loads firm from NAND. Its looking like community standard will be Boot9Strap due to 3ds.guide using it.

When doing Sighax installation it installs the firm file to the NAND.

Touching the NAND directly is always risky without a hardmod.

Ha ha ha, thanks for all the quick responses. (That's what I get for habitually not looking at the changelog myself /facepalm)

Or if you prefer, backup sysnand, backup emunand, restore emunand to sysnand, then if desired restore sysnand to emunand (that is what I did when the first safea9lhinstaller came out, you know the one that downgraded emunand to 2.1 and then did a bunch of checks, so I could have an unlinked emunand just in case).

Give me a few days and I might have something :P

Sighax is the exploit. boot9strap is the implementation of that exploit.
You can(shouldn't) use Dereks Sighax installer and it just has you rename the boot.firm file and then it installs that onto ur NAND. They use the same exploit Sighax and Boot9Strap are just different implementations.

Of course, the very fact that his installer can cause a brick like that shows why it shouldn't be used. No safety checks.
