I'm looking for a HeartGold or SoulSilver patch with ALL (location, battle and any other type of) background music disabled in order to rip sound effects, so these must be untouched. There used to be a patch around but the Dropbox links are long gone.

I intend to make a video such as this for documentation and ripping purposes.

Additional patches for other Pokémon roms (Platinum and BW2) are also welcome. Very welcome.

I have been able to dump all music as MIDIs but I'd like the real deal with the original soundfonts employed by the games.

Thank you very much.

This is something you could do very easily by replacing all of the BGM-related SWARs with silence instead of the actual samples.

You can just use Tinke. It's very basic editing, I think you'll be able to figure it out on your own. But you'll need two other tools (that you should be able to find with Google) called wav2swav and swav2swar.

My progress so far, still looking for clearer directions or a hand:
Dump gs_sound_data (SS rom) with Tinke.
Open in the Mario Kart editor, dump one Swav as Wav.
Remove sound of swav in Audacity and export with similar if no identical settings.
Convert Wav to Swav.
Swav to Swar to create a new "blank" Swar. Import it in Tinke.
(Blank screen on boot) - Probably cause the Swar I replaced had many more Swavs in it or w/e.

Currently trying to import close to 200 blank Swavs, replacing (but keeping the same name) of one of the Swars, labeled including "BGM_BASIC" or similar, which seems to contain the most basic instruments.

why not just use tinke to rip the sfx directly from the .sdat instead of going through the trouble of replacing every .swav files in every music .swar with silence just to record a video of all the sounds ¿ it sounds like too much work for something that can be done so much easier
