Ok so I had a DS Lite for years and I don't know why but I deleted all of the r4 SDHC data or whatever and tried re installing the kernel/system thing and no matter how many different ones I try it won't work can someone PLEASE help I really want to be able to use it again..
Here's a picture of my R4 Card if needed, I guess. I need help to re download the system on it so it can work and so I can download some games on it again. Thank you SO much if you take the time to help me

Make sure you downloaded their kernel from the site that's printed in the card. If that doesn't work, don't worry, just buy another one, the cheapest ones are at around $6.50 (USD).

I'm 14 lmao I doubt my mom would buy me a new one.
The site doesn't exist anymore, I guess.. it's supposed to be www.r4ultra.com

Also I can't freaking find almost any r4 cards for nds lite on ebay and anywhere else..

I can't find the download link ;-; do i download AKAIO ?? Would that even work? I'm confused.. and I don't understand how to set it up with the instructions it gives me on the site
Chose AKAIO.

EDIT:
And copy the contents of the archive to the root of your SD-card storage.

Chose AKAIO.
Um.. I extracted to a specified folder using WinRAR and extracted it directly to the SD card and re inserted it into the R4 Card and instead of not detecting it, it sort of worked.. all it gave me was a white screen after the Nintendo logo.. how do I fix this I have 2 NDS Lites so it's not the DS that's not working, it's the kernel thing you gave me, how do I fix it and thanks for the help

When you open your SD-card on your computer do you see a file named "akmenu4.nds" there?
Without opening any additional folders?

Yep, looks perfect.
It only boots to a white screen?
White screen. Yup. Had this previous problem before when I tried installing different softwares/kernel things in the past after deleting the one that came with the card.
Are the text files meant to be there lol? Do you know what to do next?

Is the card formatted to FAT32?

Okay, let's try a bunch of things now.

1. Reformat using the official format tool: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/
if that doesn't work:
2. Set the date on your system back to like 2005
If that doesn't work?
I'm stumped.
I chose the fast format thing cause the full erase thing didnt work.
I had set the date back to 2005. Didnt work after formatting as above and re extracting the files to the card, still.
Set date to 2013 and retried. Still didnt work.
:( I really want to play my DS again..

Mmmmh... maybe it's a contact issue.
Try a small piece of paper, fold it once. Stick it between the DS housing and the Flashcart.

Now it doesn't detect the card at all with the paper in lol

Are you sure the txt files are not messing it up?

I doubt that has anything to do with it.
I am stumped.
Should be the right kernel for your card and it is formatted correctly.
It isn't a contact issue either.
Maybe your cart is defective?

I don't know, possibly. Do you know anywhere online that still sells r4 cards for NDS lite or can you please try to find some other fix? Thanks again..
