Black ops 2 I believe
Better than the WiiU which only hit just under 900k in the first six weeks. So, that's something.Too early to say. Low stock drives artificial demand/buzz. It's only been a month, id say at the very least wait 3+ months before you judge a console on how well its selling. That being said, 1.5m+ is a pretty good number.
Long term sales > Short term
Who still plays 6th gen? Even the 3rd world countries i would imagine play ps3/360 cuz they have piracy.
What you don't realize is that it's swelling up because people put water on it, like a familiar critter.Yeah, the Switch is swelling very fast, according to some reports.
Come on, let's be real here. They're selling like fucking hotcakes.
It's not a high price. Not in the least.
It sells out the second it most stores. Although Nintendo ships like 2 at a time because they are fucking assholes.
Except they only ship 2 to most stores. I don't think this the case, I know for a fact that they have been shipping systems in low numbers to the stores. Nintendo is doing the same thing with the Switch that they did with the NES classic. It's not to the same extreme, but they are in fact keeping the numbers low to create a greater demand. Why do you think this is the case? It never ceases to amaze me that people believe that Nintendo/Apple/Sony/Whoever Has The High Demand Thing of the Moment wants OTHER PEOPLE to make MORE MOENY off their stuff than THEY do.
Companies/Business selling into the Primary market HATE the Secondary market/arbitrage...HATE. IT. There is no MONEY to be made in "artificial demand" if you are not actually making the money. No one selling Thing X *wants* the people that want to buy it NOT to have it. Great pains, in many industries, are taken to avoid this, but the notion that Nintendo or anyone else is intentionally doing this is just, I'm sorry, mis-informed and bordering on batshit
Here is what actually is happening: Nintendo built an allotment of these things. There is a Fixed Supply. Because there is *risk* involved in sourcing parts for a huge supply chain, IF people in fact did NOT respond to the product (why would they...the entire industry and half the fan base, shell shocked from arguing with XBONE and PS4 people, thinks Nintendo doesn't know how to make things that people enjoy...suckers...) they would be sitting on a pile of debt.
So, like you do when you are smart, you hedge a little. They now know, without question, every single one of these things they make for the next quarter, at least, is already sold. A great problem, in business, to have.
The product is actually seemingly *underpriced* because the market is willing, clearly, to pay more for it...even this far out from launch, the street price has settled at about $100 above retail which is, OMG-Look-at-that...pretty much the same price new consoles in recent times ALWAYS launch at...~$400 USD.
Clearly the market seems to believe that having a Home Console with Home Console Gameplay and Quality, with in reality Not-Too-Shabby GFX and performance, that you can happen to pull from the TV and play wherever the ef you want to...is a product worth having.
And it is going to get *worse*...because these cross-platform games are resonating in the market...the Switch is the destination of choice for people that can make that choice because the platform's flexibility makes it the more valuable target for consumers.
You had better believe Sony *wished* they had this kind of response to the PS4 Pro/PSVR strategy

I work at a VERY well-known, and SUPER (easily multiple per town... I'm sure you can guess which store haha) retail store in the USA, and we only get like 2-4 at a time, and not very often either. And really we sell out of them REALLY fast. Also, I know it's the same for the Gamestop right by us, as I know the manager personally. Maybe we're just unlucky here...Last shipenment to one of Swedens biggest retailers had over 50+ units. All sold out now (Checked 2 weeks ago).
About some stores getting 2-4 units. Isn't there a big central storage that controls how many stores get X amount?
So it's the Wii all over? High demand, not enough production to keep up with demand in the US?I work at a VERY well-known, and SUPER (easily multiple per town...
