Will formatting my Wii U after Soft Modding my vwill be safe? Can It brick my Wii U? Or will it just not format?
The reason im asking this is because I want my nnid off of the system. Im going to sell it and I dont want it to be soft modded anylonger. I have a backup of before It was soft modded from YABDM. Any help would be appreciated :D

Format deletes stuff from vWii. I don't think it touches iOS but i know it deletes HBC. [Or it doesn't]

Perfectly fine to do, although you could just create a new user then delete yours and leave vwii modded
Wouldnt that leave my account on the console for future purposes? I dont want it stay on it. Im going to sell it and just want to have it be a clean system.

Plese be aware that, if installed coldboot you will BRICK your Wii U when formatting and coldboot installed!
-this will result in a non booting Wii U due the title to load at bootup not found (the virtual console title containing haxchi)

So, please get absolutely sure to have coldboot removed/deactivated when formating

I apologize for not replying! I dont have coldhax installed lol, I was too afraid to install it. I just want to get rid of the homebrew channel and such on my vwii. I dont think they will appreciate it being soft modded..

Ok so! I am shipping the system monday, but after a format the vwii still has the HBC and such on it?!? I kinda want them gone :wacko:Not sure how to go about this. I know if I delete the HBC it will brick my vwii, but what about nintendont and wii flow? The less modded it looks the better..

Leave them. Customer will be happy if it's already modded.
I know it from experience, people tend to pay more for CBHC+full vWii softmod.

Welll the wii u wont be modded. They told me they dont want it modded at all. I guess I could just leave them there and have a "woops" moment

Yeah, just do that. They might complain but they will be grateful in end.

wouldn't u need to leave the NNID intact if u were selling it with cbhc+vWii? I know ur not selling it this way, but am I missing something here? I would rather sell it without cbhc if that were the case. ;)

Maybe creating dummy NNID account will work, i'm not sure. You have legit .tiks in memory so if Brain Age was free, it will be transfered to every NNID you created. Then you can delete previous NNID.
If somebody would test that on redNAND and confirm this... [I have 16GB SDCard]

I heard that you can delete user account and nothing will happen to CBHC'd game.

Best way would be creating
  • Dummy NNID account
  • Uninstalling CBHC and deleting Brain Age game
  • Redownloading it from dummy NNID account [It will show since you have legit .tik]
  • Deleting other NNID accounts
  • Haxchi then CBHC your redownloaded Brain Age game
  • ???
  • Profit

seems like a major oversight considering u could just delete ur old account and sell the system with all digital games linked to a separate account. I was going to sell my main wii u ('til I hacked the heck out of it), but going all digital held me back. u could essentially sell a system with all ur ripped games on it, then sell the physical copies essentially selling the game twice.
