Howdy all,
Not all of us were PC gamers since the 80's. Some of us are noobs. Some of us have been PC gaming since, maybe the GameCube days. I figure we should have a fun place to discuss our pet peeves and other things we wish PC game developers would take notice of.
I come from a very console heavy gaming background. Had it not been for a mixture of game streaming on OUYA, Steam Big Picture and my wife giving me the base parts that ended up being my gaming PC. I wouldn't be into PC gaming as much as I am. That said, while the transition has been mostly smooth, yet there are some nagging factors.
1) Really wish developers would take the time to properly place controller button icons in their games. Most console/PC ports handle this well but games that have more of a PC following tend to have a "f*ck it, we don't care!" feeling and it's really annoying! (I'm looking at you ARK!)
2) Separation of mouse and analog sticks! REALLY REALLY REALLY wish more current games would keep the separation in their games. I use a mobile VR Headset and Trinus VR software with my gaming PC and it really sucks when a game forces me to either invert aim for my right stick or keep mouse aim for my headset. Since head tracking on my headset is based on the gyro mouse on my head. I would really love to have the option to invert aim on my stick but keep normal aim on my gyro mouse.
3) Steam needs a updated web browser. Sure it works well with most sites but the lack of proper flash for some sites and the fact that Steam's background music sometimes still plays in the browser makes it all feel broken :/
Anyone else have thoughts they want to share?
