Around last week I left the switch on my bed. Couple hours later I picked it up and tried putting in the dock but it wouldnt sit flush with it and I had to use force to get it in. Pulled it out and turns out it was slightly bent. Bent it back in place and it ok. Didnt care to much since it still worked and had no problems with it since. I think it might have over heated because I left it on sleep mode and left it on my bed.
Saw people just now talking about it.

Update: I added current pictures of the switch

Can you share a pic, overhead view compared with a straight line if possible.

When you use cheap materials, these are the results... I was gonna get this at launch, but honestly I'll wait. I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a hardware revision in the works in a few years.

Never took a pic. I didnt care enough to, since after I bent it back in place it still worked.

Well, then we have nothing... and you could have just posted in the other thread..

It shouldn't heat up when in sleep mode though. Otherwise, everyone's Switches would be overheating inside their pouches. Are you sure it happened when it was left on the bed?
Like the other reports, I'm having trouble believing that this was caused by heat.

But people also arent willing to spend a lot either. Something has to give.
True , Nintendo had the most ideal plan ever when they announced that the console/handheld was gonna be a hybrid, but I knew it was going to be some cons in progress. Now Despite the fact that you can't really get more than 2 hours I believe (unless your playing a very demanding game) I'll say it's still worth it, I've been waiting for something like this to happen. When I do play on a handheld, I really do enjoy playing it for a long time, but for the switch I'm afraid that prolong use may also result in overheating and bending.

Then why make a thread? You setup a rather interesting topic and really should have expected people to ask for pictures. People are either going to be skeptical or just interested to see a bent Switch from another Temper, maybe the latter. Regardless, this is an interesting topic that really fails to deliver the goods.

I know. I could've took a pic and I know people wont %100 believe me because I didnt, but I made a thread because I heard it was happening to others. When it happened to me I never heard of it happening to anyone else. I just thought maybe I f*cked up something and should take care of the switch more. Also wasnt able to take a pic because my first reaction after seeing it bent was to bend it back in place and leave it alone for a while.

The body is made of metal. If you block the intake/output for the cooling fans on any console, it'll melt. Better not bother buying any electronics if you don't think you can avoid doing that. Nintendo can't revise away stupid.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
