I am not entirely positive if this has been posted or not, so any moderators feel free to remove or lock the thread if it has.

Looks like Sony filed for a patent that very much resembles the Switch, months ago.

I'm speechless.

On the bright side, if this thing becomes real it might come with Super Smash Kratos for Vitaendo Swish!

Can't wait to play Crash Bandicoot Breath of the 4K!

(Can't believe I screwed up the source link. Fixed now.)

Probably won't release or it's just an add on to a xperia or something.

I hope so. I mean I've seen twins that are easier to tell apart then this from the switch. My god.

Though they can easily fix that. Just put one of those light balls on top of it, and you're good to go!

Even though I don't think this is anything switch like it's not surprising Sony and Microsoft seem to make their own versions of Nintendos hardware.

Did Sony drop out if the handheld market?

Fuckin' Sony.

SNES controller - a shoulder button on each side!

Original PSX controller - two shoulder buttons on each side

N64 controller - rumble pack, and an analog stick!

2nd iteration PSX controller - dual shock, and two analog sticks

The most painful part of all of this, is that Sony is still in time to save the Vita, with a new release. Even as late as it is, a new Vita 3000 with upgraded hardware, micro SD card compatibility (finally ditching the proprietary ridiculously priced Vita memory cards), and some marketing love could easily put the Vita back on track. Such a great handheld.

But no. Let's f******* make a Playstation Swita instead..

****'s sake....

With vita bombing in my opinion Sony should stick with PlayStation console and nothing else. Even though I don't care for Sony products they have a solid place in the console industry and do really well.

This was revealed months ago. The patent was filed a long long time ago, and never used. Sony seems completely disinterested in pursuing another portable after Vita.

Even if it was filed when the switch started on the drawing board. They should have been making a better, more affordable, third party support, newer version of their failed handheld instead of making useless patents that apparently never went anywhere.

Meanwhile, one of the best handhelds ever made died of neglect.

FTFY

Whether or not it's "the best" is subjective.
