The coming Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will probably make me get one. Or I'm still going to wait for a second generation Switch. We'll just see what games will come to the Switch... exclusive ones of course. BOTW is just a launch game and it was originally developed for the Wii U then ported to Switch. They even removed the dual screen purpose of the game which was previewed years ago.

Has it occurred to you that the reason BOTW is "not really your kind of the game" is because it's borderline unplayable on CEMU so you don't get any joy out of it?

It's not my type of game for the same reason any other 3d open ended RPG/MMORPG isn't my type of game. It's the genre, I don't like grind. The Zelda games that tell a reasonably linear story in a few days of game time are more my style.

The developers of Dolphin take fucking forever to fix their issues and their emulation still doesn't run well!

Wii U emulation works better on my gaming PC than Wii/GC emulation. My point being, we need to give the Cemu developers some time to sort out the issues. I guarantee than within the next year or two, we will be having some smooth emulation

Hm. Opposite experience here... Cemu is alright... At best.. Dolphin is superb. Quite honestly the best, in my honest opinion. The second closest would be bsnes.

Btw last time I checked, Dolphin doesn't have a patreon. Cemu does. At this date they earn, 25k a month. That's a lot of money so you can spend a lot of time coding.

what grind? You can beat the game right away if you want to, no grinding needed. Dunno what botw you been playing.

I dont know what game you've been playing. While its true you can go right to the final boss after completing the first area its unrealistic to expect the average player to go right up to the final boss immediately. Stop pretending there isnt a small amount of grind needed in order to have progression.

I don't really see that much grind in the game. Grind is literally completing the exact same tasks overall and over again until you achieve an objective. Botw has nothing like that, literal grinding is irrelevant, and every shrine has a unique task and can be skipped if you don't like it.

Getting money was definitely a grind for me.

Prove it, Post a youtube video of you beating Gannon with the 3 hearts, 1 stamina bar, worn clothes, and stick that you get at the start. Also, that is part of the reason I don't like the game. The story if you do that is not engaging at all. The story as a whole is not as good as other Zelda games.

The story is great. It just makes you work really hard to get the full story. Unlike other Zelda games it doesn't just hand you the story on a silver platter.

I have no issues supporting devs who made a great game, also the Switch is pretty incredible considering what it does while handheld.

Super happy with my purchase, it goes great with my PC build.

sure it plays on cemu but have you actually seen it? it plays fucking terrible and their so called update which is supposed to fix everything (yeah right it will) isn't free. also do you realize you have to keep paying their patron account to access it so every update is for subscribers only! in the meantime you could have used that for suckerz subscription money your giving to them each month while they fix ONE bug at a time to KEEP you subscribed and bought the game or pirated it on the wiiu and it would run over 9000 times better.

what one player achieved is not representative of what most will be able to achieve in this scenario. Further, we don't see all the failed takes, maybe he was at it for 8 hrs before he pulled it off, we don't know.

But having defeated gannon myself I have to say that the old maxim "it's not the destination, it's the journey" has never been more true.
