@kantaroo Open the "FBI" app, go to TitleDB, then install "Luma Locale Switcher".
Launch it, choose Titles, then choose the game, then choose "Change Region", then pick "USA". The game should work now

(If the game shows up twice on Locale Switcher, do this for both of the items)
@erman1337 thanks for the suggestion. I tried that but I'm afraid it has not made any visible difference.
There was only one instance of "Disney Magical World" in the Titles list; I set it to "USA" as suggested and still comes up with "There is a software update available". Again if I update I have two choices, with the same issues as before: either I go via the eShop and then I get an error "011-3021" saying the software is not found, or I do the update directly in which case it appears to have worked - but then when I go back to the game it again says that there is a software update available, as if it had not registered that it has just downloaded it.
For good measure I tried to change the region to EUR and did the same - but with the same outcome.

There were two "Luma Local Switchers" and I have tried both.

I note that when I download the update directly it says that it has been successful and that I will be able to check in the 'add-on content' section of the system settings. But when I go to that section I do not see any trace of an update for this game. So I would say that it has not been successful, contrary to the message my 3DS gives me.

Any other ideas?

@erman1337 Thanks for getting back to me again, I appreciate it.
Updating from the Freeshop directly sounded very promising but sadly it has not worked either.
Seeing as I had mucked around with the settings I decided to remove the game from the 3DS and re-downloaded from the FreeShop. This time I made sure to also download the update. Sadly I still get the same result: a blank screen when I start the game. I then changed the title region to USA and removed and redownloaded the update for good measure. At least now I see the update in the 'add-on content' of the system menu. But unfortunately that's as far as it goes; still get the blank screen when I start the game. :(

Not exactly sure how it works, but what you're doing could get you banned by Nintendo. Apparently they frown on out of region titles. The eShop can't find your update because it doesn't "have" it. You can't update out of region games. You're just going to have to go download the updates from that iso/chaos site.

When you say blank screen, do you mean the Nintendo 3DS logo black screen or is it really a black screen with nothing on it? If it's the screen with 3DS logo, it usually means you're missing the seed. Go in FBI, go to Titles, find the game, and Import seed.

There's a bug in the German version. Use the one in that post.

Guys I think my Freeshop is bugged. My shop hasn't been adding newly released games to the downloads list since two weeks ago despite having gone through two cache updates in those two weeks.

Here's my store currently:

As you can see, I still don't have Trio of Towns and Monster Hunter XX on there. What seems to be the problem here? Can you show me what's in your shop so I know that mine isn't bugged.

From what I can tell, it seems the actual Title Key Database isn't updating. I've been looking and noticed that quite a few games (Monster Hunter XX, Blaster Master Zero) are not showing up with Encrypted keys. As Freeshop needs the encrypted keys, you'll not get any new updates until those new titles get their encrypted keys added to the database you're using. Recently the FreeShop got hit with a DCMA, so updates to the database are slow, if at all.

I was about to post about this. Thing is annoying.

Thank you for your reply. I made a topic about this but the people on that topic called me a greedy pirate for asking.

Is there anyway to fix this?

FreeShop has nothing to do with the key database, they are developed/managed by two completely different people.

Neither of those games is available in the titlekey database, until someone purchases the game and contributes the titlekey, they won't ever be available via FreeShop.

Buy the game and contribute the key.
So long as the key isn't available on that titlekey site, it will never show up in any CDN-based downloader.

I have uploaded the keys. Twice now. (Refering to Project X Zone 2)
The only Project X Zone 2 stuff is demos, updates and DLC.
Keys are verified prior to being shown at all (That's why only decrypted titlekeys are accepted), are you sure you had the correct key? (As in, you bought the game yourself from the eShop)

Absolutely, and it's been a few weeks.

Sadly, we don't really have a direct method of communication with the guy who runs that site. My best guess is either something was wrong with the keys, or the site is having issues.
more than likely his real life has gotten in the way of the site manager, keeping them away from this project.

That would explain not having new encrypted keys, but as far as I understood, the decrypted keys were automatically verified via script and shown pretty quickly after submission.

If you can't wait for things to get encrypted and the cache to get updated, you can just encrypt it yourself and download it from the CDN using another app, program, or script.
