I know the Switch Virtual Console is coming out soon but I have a lot of eShop and Virtual Console games the goes past 300 games and I was wondering if there's a homebrew app or hack that allows more games, say like 500-600 games.

It isn't that easy. That limit is based in the Wii U software, and you can't just "make a homebrew" to fix it.

Holy god, why do you need that many games? I installed only like 4 games that I play regularly, as for a homebrew, no.
Now if you're able to edit your system itself "without fear of bricking, which will most likely happen" maybe..
But won't that wear at your usb/hdd faster? xD

That is the problem with people, they don't realize you aren't supposed to DOWNLOAD EVERY GAME YOU THAT IS AVAILABLE CAUSE YOU CAN. If you can find it at retail, then get it. Yes i know is very comfortable having it stored digitally but the limitations make it clear that it wasn't designed to even reach that limit.

At most the console developer assume perhaps the digital only indie games would be downloaded on the system, and the retail games would be bough on disc, or least you wouldn't get to a limit of 300. :wtf:

Besides, downloading so many games and the file size of full project retail games compared to small budged indie games are very different. Assuming you did download every game from your region on eshop, you could reach the 2TB limit before even getting to the 300 title limit.

Long story short, STOP GETTING STUFF YOU KNOW YOU WON'T PLAY. No one is gonna play all those games on one console, cause for certain, all those games aren't worth it, even if it is free.

Slow-down on the downloading, Fisty McShovelware.

Why don't you get a USB for crappy games, one for mediocre games, and one for games you'll actually play a lot? Then you can install the games on each one, depending on the game quality, and you can swap out the USB drive when you need a game on the other drive.

There are 735 total games for the system, so you would need three USB drives to get them all. If you aren't even willing to invest in three USB drives to get them all installed, you're pretty low.

I never sold pirated shit to anyone. Besides, how come our iPods can have like 5,000 songs and some people who grew up in the 50s and 60s can have, hundreds, if not thousands of old records? Times are changing and people should be allowed to have more than 300 games installed on their consoles, so that decades from now, their children and grandchildren can play these old retro classics; be it Virtual Console or eShop games. There will come a time when psychical media will be very hard to find or will become obsolete and I can see that happening, less than 20 years from now. Maybe not in 10 years, but defiantly in 20 years.

Fact is, I'm a huge fan of the Virtual Console. Do I get every VC game, even the bad ones; yes. Would I get every eShop title, no. In fact, I have over 200+ VC games on both the 3DS and the Wii U and only less than 60 eShop games on Wii U and a little over 60 games on the 3DS, and of course, the 28 digital Wii titles and the 22 NES, Sega Genesis, and arcade 3D Classics.

You're a virtual hoarder. Cut back. Get some help.
It's the same sickness of the ones asking for the 3ds limit to be raised. Play a game...delete it. Add another, and play it. Don't keep saying 'I'll add this one, for when I have time or I'll get it eventually...'. You know better.

Ugh, can't anyone be happy on here and not have a friggin chip on their shoulder. That's like over 90% of the people who reply on here! Why do people have to act so negatively on the internet? I don't like the direction our generation is heading!
It isn't necessarily negativity, at least from me, it's more of a logical approach, I used to hoard games like that with no need.
I'd personally say beat what you do, delete it, install next game. To clear up space and not be overwhelmed with "Omg I have all dis what do I play?"

Because technically thinking about it, if you're like me and only cycle between a few games at a time, there's no point in having the extra installed, and I'm not being negative with what I'm about to say, I'm just curious as if you really cycle all 250+ games within a matter of days and hours?

While it is nice to have it all installed and there waiting basically, I can see the point of beating the hassle of "installing later" or forgetting, which is why I tend to make lists personally, however take any game, play it 100% or however much you want to play it, odds are 10-14 hours, depending and that's if you ONLY play that one game, but for the time being enjoy what you have, install extra later etc.
It's a habit I had to break out of myself and it actually makes the experience more meaningful and fun to me, then again I get overwhelmed easily so I tend to have only like 4 games at a time and install later.

However if you truly need the extra space, I'd say get a secondary USB or 3.5" HDD as they're both cheap, keep VC on one, WiiU titles on another etc.

We'll all be looking back at this, 20-30 years from now and we'll all laugh!

Even if I don't play all 500+ of my games, who's to say that my children or grandchildren won't?

How do I keep the folders sorted, every time I switch devices?

I'd give this reply 100 likes if I could. People need to understand the difference between could and SHOULD. Not only is more than 300 unrealistic but who the hell would have time to play it all. Yes the limit sucks but to anyone sane its not something remotely called a problem.

So if someone has like 1,000 records, they need to sell about 60-70% of them, because no one will listen to them all? Storing them in closets, basements, or attics is NOT the same as deleting them and re-downloading them later. In fact, it's way more tedious than it sounds. So what if I'm only going to play, only about 30-40% of my game library. Doesn't mean I should be forced to delete the games I don't play.

I have 3 USB flash drives; one for eShop games, one for Wii VC and Wii U games, and the other that's empty, except for a few apps. I have all of my VC games on the internal memory. Once we get past the 292nd VC title (currently at 275 VC titles), if the Switch VC isn't ready by then, the only thing I can is do keep my NES, SNES, N64, GBA, and DS games on one flash drive, and my TG-16 and Wii VC games on another, but like I said; there's no way to keep the games sorted in folders. Even the 3DS had an easy fix for this since you could save up to 8 different layouts on the home menu. Why couldn't the Wii U have the same? No wonder it sold so poorly! That and the "Wii" brand being reused. It would've sold better if it had only been called the "Nintendo U", instead of the "Wii U".

Yes, it's ridiculous to have more than 300+ games but then again, Baby Boomers have closets, basements, or attics full of records, baseball cards, vintage toys, and maybe even old Beta tapes! Generation X and Y people have comics, cassettes, CDs, Atari, NES, Game Boy, and Sega Genesis games, along with old VHS tapes. Does that make them hoarders? Yes. Does that mean it's ridiculous? Not necessarily!

Your logic is rather flawed and also the same flawed logic as every hoarder. You think these will be useful in 20/30 years. When it won't.
You aren't creating some virtual library for your kids to one day play. You are indulging in piracy hoarding. Every pirate goes through this, where they think they can download every game, then justify with a misguided idea that you will either one day play them or someone else will one day play them. Then you will sit on these games doing nothing with them.

I'm not downloading these for free. I have bought them all "legally". I never usually keep pirated games, I always ended up deleting them. I did so on the Wii years ago, when installed WAD files of NES, SNES, and Genesis games. I buy all of my eShop and VC games. I don't pirate them. Only VC games that are either hard to find or are only available in Wii Mode.

The difference beeing that first a normal song is much shorter then a average game (even then a NES game, which tend to be rather short compared to lets say average games of the late 90s and early 2000s [if you're a skilled gamer that can handle the difficulty level]) and second that you easily can play a song during doing something else. Even just while walking on the street, try that with gaming.
Today there is more time to consume/listen to songs then there where back then thanks to technology like Walkmans/MP3-Player/iPods. That's not so true for gaming (and you most likely will spend less and less time with gaming during your life maybe until the point you get to retirement btw).
And a third point beeing that songs got less complex over the time until the point pop music really started off. For most songs today you just don't need to free your mind and concentrated/work with as much as with some older music.
Or in short and in directness: Your point is invalid.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm not out to get every eShop game. I am for every VC game. This wasn't true during the original Wii era because that would've costed hundreds of dollars, to do so and VC games on the Wii, lacked restore points and other features.

Then you are literally wasting money on hoarding. The limit is there because it's completely silly to have that many titles that you aren't going to play
