11.3 causes issues for most of the CFWs at the time it showed up. Luma was working right out of the box. my point is that the NEXT one might come up with a way to cause more issues (like some sort of special check), but you will still be able to use arm9hax to restore a backup to fix things, as arm9hax loads too early for Nintendo to stop.

Does 11.3 break my A9lh install?
no, it does not, A9lh functions normally.
(Gateway a9lh is broken, however)

Could anyone give me a hand on how to fix my 3DS? I need to know what to do next. I have A9LH installed, my N-N3DS was working OK when I updated to 11.3 but now it wont pass the boot screen "Reinand" for AuReiNand. Sorry if I don't really know a lot about these hax-s, but because I followed some guides on youtube (which are now deleted) I made it to my current CFW A9LH.
-As of right now, the only way my console will boot to sysnand (sysnand is in the microsd) is by pressing SELECT when turning the console on and _x_Forcing_A9LH_detection which takes me to the old 10.x.x. Firmware where most of my games wont appear.

Any link/name/reference/tip/guide will help me a ton since I'm now stuck. Updating to 11.3 broke my CFW... :'( :(

That's because I believe Reinand doesn't work on 11.3. I don't know much about reinand, but I believe you'll be fine by downloading Luma3DS and putting the arm9loaderhax.bin to the root of your SD card, overwriting the existing file. From hereon out you should keep using Luma3DS anyway, as it is superior. Also following youtube guides is the worst possible thing you could ever do when hacking your 3DS. Be damn glad you didn't brick, because there was a high chance to do so.

Also from your post I'm assuming you're using emuNAND? There's no reason to do that when on A9LH. You should make a backup of your emuNAND, then flash it onto your sysNAND, and lastly remove your emuNAND. You can keep using emuNAND if you want but there's no reason to for an average user - it is simply waste of space.

Also your sysnand isn't on your SD .. it's called sysNAND for a reason. It is the NAND your console is running and it is in the console. Your emuNAND is in the sd card.

haha, Thanks a lot for your quick reply. The youtube guides I followed were VERY basic and files/menus were modified by the Yakara Colombia(Spanish). I never had any trouble besides of today (my bad). Thanks again for the tip (Luma3ds). I'll work on it and keep you posted for the record. I hope my case helps someone else.

The problem with video guides is usually nothing more but the files. If the links to the files link to their own links like files on filetrip or such, who's to say those links will be updated when new files are released? They probably won't. There's been countless people who've bricked because they've used outdated files intended for older versions of the hack, as well as even some Youtubers who have shared their OTP.bin file in the video .. If you install A9LH with someone else's OTP.bin you will brick. The 3DS.Guide (which is what you should've used), is very thorough and updated constantly. If there's an update released to a file needed .. It'll be updated into the guide promptly. If something is discovered, it will be updated into the guide. Will Youtubers update their guide similarly? Unlikely.

He still makes weekly content; I just fell behind but I got your point. I'm sticking to the guides from now on :D .

Back to my issue, I replaced the ReiNand with Luma3DS V6.6. I am now using the autoboot SysNAND and my N3DS now boots correctly and shows all my games(wrapped but there they are !), which left me thinking, was I wrong about me using emuNAND after all? because it seems I'm using SysNand. lol!

How can I clone my SysNAND? (for a backup), and is it possible to inject Luma3DS arm9loaderhax to my sysnand? (I want my 3DS to boot even if it doesn't have a micro SD in it).

Well I'm confused because earlier you said you were able to get into 10.x firmware by holding select, but you updated to 11.3. You must be using emuNAND or at least have emuNAND even if you're not using it right now. emuNAND takes up couple GB's of space so if space isn't that precious to you, you don't really have to do anything at this point.

If you followed the A9LH guide and it was thorough you probably have Hourglass9 already which means that by holding start when you power on the console, you will get into the Hourglass menu from where you can create an emuNAND backup, or a sysNAND backup (or both). If you don't have Hourglass9 then download it, and rename the file to start_hourglass9.bin and put it in the Luma/payloads folder.

If you installed A9LH recently and have the newest version of it then it supports SD-less boot. To do this, open up FBI, navigate to the root of the SD card and find arm9loaderhax.bin. Select it and select copy. Then, navigate to CTRNAND and press on <current directory> once opened, and select paste. You should be able to boot w/o sd card now.

I'm too tired to think about the emu/sysnand thing though so someone else will have to pitch in. @Quantumcat have any idea?

If a new 3ds has a9lh with luma cfw and is currently on 11.2 . can a o3ds on stock firmware 11.3 do a system transfer and get a9lh from it?

Not yet, no, because there is nothing for 11.3 just yet.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to say but he asked if he can do a system transfer to gain A9LH from the source system. That's literally impossible whether 11.3 is hackable or not.. you can't simply "transfer" A9LH.

sorry, he probably worded it wrong then. i took it he was trying to get cfw from the source to the target, not the other way around :P

AS long as you have arm9loaderhax on FIRST, you can backup and restore sysnand even on 11.3. and as long as you are running luma3ds, updating to 11.3 is safe, because it write protects arm9hax and gets to subvert the fixes in 11.3. :)

if 11.3 is on before arm9hax, you are limited to soundhax with fixed payloads and userland homebrew only. that's why soundhax hasn't been fixed yet. it doesn't actually enable piracy. Homebrew isn't actually prohibited on the 3ds. at least until someone figures ot how to convert .3ds to .3dsx

sony was the same way. they thought independence was cute until hdloader.elf showed up. then they went "Oh HELL NO!".

nintendo system transfer won't transfer arm9hax. and 11.3 so far completely prevents downgrading if it's there first. without a kernel exploit we can't downgrade and get the otp.
