In my opinion anything other than CBHC is pointless for most users. CBHC will allow you to pirate every game and dlc that's available in the easiest way possible ATM, that's what most users want. I bet most of them never launch any homebrew except WupInstaller.
Just haxchi is enough, why would i risk a % of brick risk for a less than a minute faster boot...

When you have kids that use it, it makes sense for them just to be able to launch the game they want and if that game has unofficial dlc then with CBHC they don't have to do anything to make it work.

Can be a good reason but with haxchi directing directly to FW.img or mocha, they would only have to press that one before going into the game, and it could be accessed from quickmenu also, but yeah, for that, could be a reason.

Errr...nooooooooo! With haxchi you don't need FW.img or mocha! Just Haxchi! Default=sysmenu. Done.

Great. More noobs installing redNAND again. Here come all the new "redNAND isn't working" threads.

When are guide makers gonna explain to people that redNAND is NOT the recommended solution for noobs. Hell, it's not even really valid for most advanced users.

PSA: HaxChi is recommended CFW.
Mocha is recommended if you cant/aren't willing to buy a 10 dollar DS game.

It's that simple.
I'm actually writing an issue on why sysNAND should be used instead.

Update haxchi then :P
I worked my ass of for that FW.img ah ah, :D.
Haxchi v1 is not "that" outdated, v2 is just more conveniant for people who want a fast boot, i just want my homebrew channel modified DS game on my sysnand and launch fw.img from there if i need it :).

Which you can do with v2 as well...pointless not to upgrade.

Huge fan of CBHC myself. Have 5 kids. They turn on the Wii U and play. Mic dropped

In all seriousness, there are a lot of fear mongers out there scaring people away from CBHC. When compared with brick risks when modding all other consoles it trends very low on the scale. Every console up to this point (except Xbox one and PS4) has been hacked to turn on and play. Every single one of them have involved severe brick risks. Some more than others when soldering was involved. CBHC is painless and easy compared to even the hackmii installer for the Wii. The author has pretty made it brick proof if you follow instructions (just like every other hack before it). The only real way to brick at this point is to format your Wii U without first removing CBHC.

Just my thoughts

Pretty sure the 304589272 bricks report here did not help that x).

when in cbhc/haxchi cfw, patch system menu version to be 99.99.99 to protect from potential updates
when in cbhc/haxchi cfw it will now protect against installing over the used ds vc title
updated installer iosu exploit to be a bit more stable and added tiny debug patch
added new config option to haxchi, "sysmenu" which will relaunch you into the system menu with signature, region patches and everything else that cbhc patches
small logic correction in the iosu patcher

stop being cheap and just use haxchi. stop being lazy and just use haxchi over cbhc. i like having my console stock and use cfw if i want to.

This is incorrect. There is a reason all 3DS hacks used RedNAND/EmuNAND up until a9lh. SysNAND CBHC/Haxchi is not safe. It provides no safety net against bricks or Nintendo updates (unless you remember to set the DNS servers on every connection; the version check patch hasn't actually been tested in practice).

RedNAND comes with 0 risk and 0 chance of bricking yourself. Don't be stringy or impatient when it comes to the possibility of bricking your console or being locked out of hacks.

Additionally (in the context of how we use it), Haxchi is an exploit that launches a CFW. It is not a competitor to Mocha, it is a launcher for it that makes it so you don't need a browser to launch CFW.

Not that much then, i don't install much and always triple check even before installation, always have my tubehax local enabled, never had problem of stability of some sorts.
Tbh i don't launch fw.img that much, most of the time it's just to install "legit" games that work without cfw, i do hear you, updating is great, but i don't really "need it" everything works fine and do what i need it to do.

It's not confirmed that redNAND is update proof though, it is just assumed.
