Did you previously use your wolf Link amiibo on the Wii u? I already tried restoring to my amiibo but since I don't have a Wii u to initialize the app data section I cannot restore to it.

I only used it to transfer my amiibo to the switch from the Wii U. I think it should work anyway, the bin file I used contains the whole amiibo and full re-writable section.

What steps did you do?

I have tried many things including the steps you have provided, the problem is until you use the wolf link amiibo on the wii u, there is no re-writable section. The wii u initializes this section. When you are restoring the game save that you have to the amiibo, it is only writing to the re-writable section. If you look at your original amiibo UID and the game save UID you will see that the amiibo UID does not change to the game save UID because that section is locked and not writable.

Without initializing the re-writable area with a wii u, I cannot write to it, the game just thinks it's corrupted and wipes it. I do not have a wii u to initialize the amiibo.

It seems that for you, by using the amiibo on the wii u at least once you have initialized the re-writable section, something I cannot do. That is what allowed you to restore to it.

Have you tried just flashing the bin with the save game to a completely blank ntag? Also have you tried to register as owner of the amiibo on the switch it self?

I do not have any blank tags, they are in the mail on their way from aliexpress, if I had blank tags I would not need to use the official amiibo that I have. Yes I have registered the amiibo several times.

I have even opened the 20 heart bin in a hex editor and marked which values changed when changing the amount of hearts and tried to inject that into my stock amiibo bin, the game just says it's corrupt and wipes it. I have given up until my tags arrive as I do not know anyone with a Wii U that I could use to initialize it.

The initialization problem is well known there are many other threads about it.

Mail your amiibo to me and I'll initialize it for you if you like. Sounds dumb but I'll do it if you need me to. Not sure what postage would be though... You should post a thread looking for a Temp member close to you with the game and a Wii U...

I wrote my self a blank ssb-ganon ntag, then without initializing it I could restore the save of someone who had leveled it up in SSB. TagMo might make the rewritable area writable when I flash the original blank amiibo though.

If you want I can just post you a wolf link sticker if you pm me your address. Depending on when you ordered it from aliexpress, airmail from Norway might arrive faster.

I appreciate the offer. My tags should arrive in a week or so, I think I'll just wait until then. Even with 3 hearts my wolf is still quite helpful and if he dies I just restart the battle from the last autosave.

This is pretty much a text book case of why people pirate shit. I tried my best to go the legit route by buying the actual wolf link amiibo and ssb link amiibo. Unfortunately the functionality is broken and now I am forced to get blank tags and pirate the damn amiibos because I am not wasting any more money on amiibos that I can't use to their full potential. If they had an option in the actual game for me to level up wolf link I would not have had to order tags and I would most likely not have learned that I could just download every amiibo bin off the internet instead of buying them.

Hopefully Nintendo sees this and learns from it.

Thank you also for the offer but I'll just wait a bit.

I think the initialization is only a problem on official nintendo amiibo. It should not be a problem on custom ntag215's.

Your custom ntag was not locked until you use amiibitz to lock it, I didn't see a lock option in tagmo but amiibitz does have one. Once locked you cannot unlock an ntag and it will stay as the amiibo that you wrote to it forever. You cannot change it. Official nintendo amiibos are locked.

I am also thinking that there is a checksum of the locked area on the amiibo that is used to initialize the re-writable area, this is why I cannot just dump the appdata from a bin file onto the official amiibo and is why the game detects it as corrupt.

You never need to lock a custom amiibo after you flash it. As far as I recall, most of the ntag 215 has a writable place that can only be written to once. And a re-writable section that be written to many times. You can try to backup your amiibo with TagMo, and clear it on the switch, then write back the one you backed up that was registered to you. Just to test if that works.

The UUID of the ntag is in the standard address space, this UUID is already locked from the manufacturer. As far as I recall, the operation TagMo does is decrypt the amiibo bin using the public key you supplied, change the UUID to the one on your blank ntag215, then encrypt it again before writing to your blank ntag. This way the checksum checks out on the console when you use the custom amiibo. Afaik the restore tag just writes the rewritable part, and the allow restore to different tag does the decrypt, change uuid, encrypt first, and only writes to the rewritable.

I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856

I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

@Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
