Yes it is purchased through the eshop. For botw, there is an option in game to take you right to it's dlc in the eshop.

For now it adds 3 chest to the starting area. One provides a nintendo switch shirt and the other two chest give random weapon or food.

Summer 2017: "The first content pack, scheduled to launch this summer, adds a Cave of Trials challenge, a new hard mode, and a new feature for the in-game map".

Holiday 2017: "The second content pack adds a new dungeon, an original story, and even more new challenges".

Thanks. I was wondering if the items are worth it to justify a season pass purchase yet. A Switch shirt looks out of place and two random weapons are meh.

The shirt does look incredibly out of place.

It's defence is only a 3 and can not be upgraded via the queen fairy. In other words it is a reskin of the starting shirt. Found next to the first shrine. My advice is to wait for the first pack to be released before buying the pass. Money would be better spent on an amiibo or amiibo power saves. At least with an amiibo you get a random set of items per day. The type of item you recieved however is fix. EI: the guardian amiibo gives you 3 random guardian parts. So far theses are used to power up the runes of the slate. They can also be sold for a decent amount of rubies

Once you can take pics of items, i also would recommend taking pics of any question mark items and chest. This marks them in the slate so you can track down more of them. If an amiibo give u a new item, you can find more of them faster

lol i was waiting for something like this

My answer: Because $400 is too much for just one game nintendo

soon you will still end up getting the Switch and you might end up getting a BOTW copy again + DLC for it even tho u already have one for the Wii U.. so in the end you end up spending more thab just $400.. unless you could wait 2-3 more yrs when the price goes down and will come with games bundled..
