Hello! I have a little big problem: I have a friend with an Old 3DSXL with RX Tools, he updated his emuNAND and got black screen. The thing is I didn't know what to do, so I found a video which explains how to solve the problem, and that was, as a matter of fact, an A9LH instalation with restauration of emuNAND. Step by step, we did everything we saw in the video. This was:

- Quit SD from 3DS, backup all data and boot into sysNAND (w/o SD), then erase all files (NO FORMATTING!) and put only a pack that was linked to the video, which were arm9.bin, arm9loaderhax.bin, arm11.bin, DEcrypt9.wip, and the folders "files9", "a9lh" and "luma". (I remember that a9lh or files9 had all the files like firm0, firm1, and all that stuff... If you need more detail on this, I could explain more)
- Turn on 3DS with SD and load Decrypt9 from browser
- Do "Auto CTRnand transfer" with D9 and, at the same time, a NAND backup
- Quit SD, erase "Nintendo 3DS" folder
- In 3DS with SD, boot SafeA9LHInstaller from browser and install
- Turn off console, boot recovery menu w/Start and boot Hourglass9
- Make emuNAND backup, and then inject it on SysNAND
- Format SD (FAT32, of course, with fat32format from cmd), put everything of the original emuNAND along the arm9loaderhax.bin and the "luma" folder w/payloads

The main problem, and what I've had open this thread, is because now in the sysNAND there's NOTHING, absolutely nothing from the old emuNAND, although it is in 11.3. What could've been wrong? It was the Nintendo 3DS folder? Because that's the only thing that comes to my mind, since emuNAND was always in the hidden partition. I really can't figure the problem, nor find anything similar on web... I'll be glad if you help me and my friend. Thank you and good night!! (well, at least here is night time, lol)

Did you actually install a9lh -- i.e. load browser on 2.1 and run the sa9lhinstaller?

If so can you show whats in the N 3DS folder [1 level]?

Yes, exactly as you say. Tomorrow I'll ask my friend to send me an screenshot and I will post it in this reply.

EDIT: @HyperT Is a shame but I can't do an screenshot because today I discover that my friend surrendered and erased everything. Anyway, thank you for the help, much appreciated!

Did you restore the sysNAND backup or the emuNAND backup?

The emuNAND backup, the one who should be on 11.3.... well, it is in 11.3, but it has no games or anything, haha.

Thanks both for reply!

In step one you backed up all the SD data to your computer. After your last step, which is to format the SD card, did you put all the files from step one back onto the SD card? The files you backed up in step one has all the games and saves.

Hey, It is best to use 3ds.guide for any 3ds hacking issue. Video guides could be outdated. :creep:

The video was new, released aprox. a week ago, but anyway you're right, I should've used that guide..... The thing is I thought the solution to that problem was other than just install A9LH, so I followed the steps and I didn't realized it until after the "disaster" (SafeA9LHInstaller didn't exist at the time when I installed A9LH on my 3DS, I didn't "catch it on time", lol)

...now you mention it, there was a "00000001.cmd" file corrupted on the SD, we couldn't copy it on first step. It was on an extdata folder of one of the sub-sub-subfolders of Nintendo 3DS. I did a bit of Google and it seemed to be a file from "Steel Divers: Submarine Wars" (he installed it but soon he erased it). Also, they were two other corrupted folders, one called "freeshop" and other one in which he stores the cias before install them. I guess those two don't have nothing to do, but the cmd file....

No, those don't really matter. What about the rest? It's important that the Nintendo3DS folder you backed up in step one is put back on the SD card. Inside that folder should be two folders with random numbers and letters. One is going to be bigger than the other. Open that one. Inside is another folder of random letters and numbers. Open it. Inside that should be a titles folder and inside that a 00040000 folder. Is there anything inside that folder? This is where all your games and saves should be.

You're gonna be as dissapointed as I am with this: my friend erased everything somewhere between yesterday night and this afternoon. He has stuck with the fact that "he lost everything and was irreparable" and well.... That's all.... (little parenthesis: I remember there were 3 folders on Nintendo 3DS, but, well, now is too late to see what's inside of each....)

Anyway, thank you very much @AnalogMan and the other three guys for worrying, much appreciated!!
