I am 70% sure I will wait and not get it at launch,
That's not sure enough.

question is whether they will upgrade the dock and make a better version, Nintendo however didn't do that with the Gamecube, Wii or Wii U although this one is a hybrid console, maybe they will make a Switch XL or make a 4K Dock, any thoughts?
* Nintendo will be ready for 4k in 2022 (or later). Certainly no sooner.
* Nintendo will release at least one major hardware revision of the Switch in coming years. This has been true of every portable they've made since the Game Boy days.
* Wii had at least 2 major hardware revisions (but they were designed to save Nintendo money rather than give the masses some real tangibles).

For me 2022 seems to far for me to wait for an upgrade, i could buy another dock for when that happens
Also..... I could even ask for it as a gift, ill do that first then I may buy the 1st revision hoping that the dock is upgradable

Actually it's not the dock what will give it a power up. It's the power adapter, the thing just gives it more power.
In the near future they will release a pro version of the power adapter that will give the system more power and additional GPU TFlops for 4k gaming.

PS: I can pull unreasonable shit out of my ass too, right???

I'd settle for a Pro dock that bundles a 3DS USB charging cable. 2017 and Nintendo are still too tight to do this. Of course mine will come from ebay and won't have Nintendo stamped on it.

i had a lot of backlog games on PS4 and Wii U that it feels like a job now to play them.. i decided to let them go and get the Switch on launch day.. only one good game for now (Zelda) will do for me.. it will help me stop thinking on what game to get next and let me focus and finish the game this time..hope i wont have any regrets.. i did keep my favourite games in case i ever think of repurchasing a PS4, (not so much with WiiU)..

Has anyone seen Captain Nintendo Dude, he has been waiting 30 days early for the switch
His channel is awesome and he wil be the first to get it on launch, I will watch him stream zelda a lot
MAN!!!! I want the Switch but The upgraded versions, will they make them? its technically a home console
DECISIONS, decisions!!!

Important question, if they upgrade the system later on will they ONLY need to upgrade the dock + power outlet
If so I dont mind upgrading later, I just need a confirmation on the upgrading process to 4k in future

It's impossible to confirm at this point. As I've stated previously, it probably depends largely on console sales in the first 2-3 years, and whether the demand seems to be there. Also whether all lanes are/can be enabled on that USB-C.

The value is definitely already there for $300, more so than any other console I'd say. I give it a year at most before the price drop to $250, though, just depends if $50 is worth the wait for you or not. Either way, buy it for what it is now: a hybrid console built by a hybrid of Nvidia and Nintendo, don't buy it for what it might become later. The games will come, of course.

I ordered mine but I guess I will sell it for double price on Ebay if this can be done. If not I cancel the Order.

I was hyped the Switch was shown but now.... Zelda can be played on WII U (as a "Backup") and yeah the rest are cheap copies of old games that are also out on PC.

So unless they bring some amazing stuff I guess I wait. Only reason to get a Early one is to crack it at later point :P

I might get one for zelda :D

TBH, I don't know how many people are desperate to get a Switch, but if any think like me they will be waiting for it to go down in price drastically before buying it.
If it goes up instead of down then I would keep waiting. If it never goes down Nintendo can stick it up their ass.
IMHO it's overpriced as fuck as it is already and most of the hype for it is fabricated.

In my opinion there has almost never been a good reason to own a launch box. Exceptions being something like a gamecube ported Wii or a specific color of something. But other than that, almost every generation's launch hardware has some sort of bugs. RRoD being the most imfamous and never even fixed until the late cycle xbox slim, YLoD for the fatty ps3s, and even launch PS4s had some disk chewing errors and overheating.

Yeh his reaction was so real, he looked DEVASTATED when he heard Mario Odyssey was coming out in November
This was a new nintendo system so i can understand the reactions to the event but CND and Etikas reactions were some of the best reactions i've seen to ANY nintendo announcement, I was so hyped myself and it was like 3:00am in the morning, Joyconbboyz!!!!!!!!!!!!

My main disappointment with Mario Odyssey was that they didn't have a playable demo at the Switch Premiere. They did have chairs and a big ass screen to watch the same trailer if you felt like it.

Even if it was just walking, jumping or running around it'd still be worth playing it.

Yeh, first play will beat E3, cant wait for e3 this year no doubt :D

there were already these kind of threads, should have just googled abit more.

guys did anyone sell their Wii U to get a switch ?
the thing is, i can surely keep my wii u and still get a Switch, but defintely not on launch, it would be more like late summer or winter this year.

but if i were to sell my WiiU i could put the money away somewhere and then later in april or may buy my Switch, i do not know if i should keep my WiiU i personally love the console, i still play SSB4 often on it.

and MK8 and there are a couple more games i have still to finish and still get into ,such as WindWaker HD/Kirby/Xeno/Mario color splash and so on.

i think i might end up selling mine in the end.
but what do you guys think ?
