Hardware Will a Switch Pro Controller be able to power on the Switch?

So I noticed that the Joycons don't have a power button which makes sense given that in portable mode, turning on the device will be as easy as turning on your 3DS, it will be on the actual Switch I imagine. But what about when you leave it docked and connected to your TV. Will we be able to power the Switch on with a Pro Controller wirelessly? The Pro Controller too seems to lack a power button, but I see no reason that say the Home Button couldn't double as the power button. Does anyone know if any word has been said on this. It would be a bit annoying to have to physically walk to the Switch and Power it on when you want to play on the TV especially when the Wii and Wii U before it could be powered on wirelessly with their controllers.

you actually can power on the switch with the joycons pretty sure the home button is also the power on button. so i'd assume you could with the PC too.

As said ^ the home button should power it on.

Also note the joycon do not charge via the switch when in handheld mode. So you will just run off there battery power.
But i hear that you can easily sync the joycons just by docking them to the switch unit.

Thinking about it its probably going to be a 2 button thing.
Press and hold home to turn on the switch and sync the last know joycons.
Or press and hold the sync button to turn on the joycons themself.

With this i also wonder which controller would be P1 and P2?

I was thinking they would have voice control like "Hey, Siri" or "Hey, Alexa".

"Hey, Iwata" or "Hey, Reggie".

The Wiimote did it for the Wii, WiiU Pro Controller for the WiiU and now the Switch Pro Controller for the Switch.

I used to use the WiiU Pro Controller to boot up the WiiU back in 2014/2015 with the Home Button so I expect they'll be keeping as is, although, the Home Button isn't on the centre (because of the Share Button) for the SPC controller.

Here's my guess:

When undocked: nada

When docked: Switch doesn't turn off but enters sleep mode, and can be woken with any button press. You put it back into sleep by pressing and holding the home button then selecting sleep.

Are you forgetting the Wii U Pro Controller? That controlled the Wii U whether the GamePad was being used or not.

Thats a really big flaw, I cant believe I never noticed the lack of a power button before. I'd trade away that useless capture button for the power button instead, plus how can we turn off the controller when its not in use and want to save battery life. I'm aware it can go to sleep within 5 mins of inactivity but that can be too long sometimes.

So many questions and nintendo gives us nothing.
Watch the user guide will only answer half of our questions and then a few months later they will update it and post it on Nintendo website to answer the other lol....

And refresh my memeory but couldnt you turn the wii motr off via System UI.
I do believe there is a controller setting icon on the switch UI. So you probably have to do it via that. Nothing new (xbox ps4 do it like that alot).

Why don't you ask Nintendo themselves ? They have the answer.

Nintendo got rid of the second screen system so the Nintendo Switch Tablet when docked will act exactly as a home console. To control, you either use the Joy-Cons or the Pro Controller. Pretty simple.

Yup. The only thing I could imagine is that Wii U games don't use rumble because I mostly use it for PC games with a Mayflash adapter and it most definitely rumbles there

It has rumble (vibration) and it's way better than the crappy rumble of the WiiU GamePad (comparable to a phone's vibration). HD Rumble seems like a really interesting concept that Nintendo's bringing.

Zelda Breath of the Wild won't be compatible with HD Rumble though I wish Mario Kart 8: Deluxe could since most of the stuff will be identical, accelerate, break, drift, hold, etc.
