The benefit is making transparency effects look more natural and not flickery. And apparently to prevent burn-in in F-Zero, though I've never experienced this myself. I know Game Gear VC has this function exposed in the settings and is set pretty high. It is called Blur, and the internal name in the emulator is LCD Delay Level.
Then turning it off for every game would actually mess up certain effects? Interesting.
Which setting do you recommend for GBA games on the 3DS, so the games won't be too blurry but at the same time retain those transparency effects? Or is there no set value which works for every game?

No, Original is the most accurate setting. GBA games like Yoshi's Island and Super Mario World had their colors noticeably brightened to be visible on the GBA's unlit screen. In actuality, those games are the ones with the wrong colors, not a lit system like AGS-101.
But this is what I was talking about. Because of the brightened colors in the games, you would need to darken them to make them look accurate on the 3DS screen.. else they would look artificially bright. The thing is that the default settings in the officially available GBA VC games seem to be too dark. At least that was the case for Yoshi's Island when I tested it. But I don't really know what configuration is the best or "most accurate", so the games won't look neither too bright nor too dark.

Damn those GBA settings are a pain! Haha

i have downloaded the tool but i dont know how to find a icon photo
You can download them through the tool. If you keep getting "Title screen not found." then you need to open your ROM in an emulator (I recommend VisualBoyAdvance) and screen capture the title screen. You can then load the resulting PNG file into the application and it will be automatically resized.

With that out of the way, I need help getting a Pokémon game to run; Pokémon Emerald to be exact. I keep getting "The 1M Circuit board is not installed."

Hey @Asdolo, is there a theoretical possibility for an update where you can modify existing cias beyond patching the rom? I would like to only change the icons and edit the 3d banner color, but as you know, these steps are automatically skipped when importing cias. Thanks in advance!

Edit: I saw that you answered to a similar question:

Currently you can only change ghosting and bright settings when importing a CIA. The CIA import option is just made for fixing that.

Nonetheless, I would really be grateful if this option could be added

Hmm... Which game are you trying?

I require help with Pokémon Emerald. When I Press Start at the title screen, I keep getting "The 1M sub-circuit board is not installed."

Will games like Yoshi Topsy-Turvy and WarioWare Twisted work like they're supposed to?
Most likely not, as AGB_FIRM wasn't made to handle rotation controls, and we probably won't be able to make a patch for it.

Yeah but you don't tilt the system itself. They have button patches. Basically pressing L tilts left and pressing R tilts right.
Well least stuff like these kinds of patches exist. To be honest i couldn't imagine trying to play those GBA games with the 4th wall breaking gameplay. I never did play one of those games like the kirby tilt tumble or something, but i did play boktai, it uses solar sensor. But i only played on emulator. Imagine playing that being bound to real life time for sun and moon. :P

I like the idea of some those games but i mean time based cycle game may be hard to put down if its too much fun. :)

Could anyone help me with Pokémon Leaf Green? When I start the game up again after saving, it says "The save file has been deleted..." - I did apply the SRAM patch. I'm not sure what I did wrong—my ROM is a stock one that you can find anywhere - (U)(Independent). On the other hand, Kirby & The Amazing Mirror worked just fine without any additional work.

I DUNNO, i never did think to try playing pokemon on VC but it requires more patching, least from what i know. Did you you patch it with the Injector or using GBA tool? Maybe try GBA tool first before the injector. If you use gba tool, it doesn't need patches in the injector, but it won't recognize the rom.

You could try google search for help :)

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming

@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
