the *HAX payloads don't work.. well...
Anywhoooooo A9LH = Safe, unless it's Gateway
If I was a programmer, I certainly would try to reverse engineer Gateway's code and rewrite it, and add it as some plugin to NTR CFW or other CFW projects.

I'm pretty sure the Gateway team always has isolated themselves from community development (due to it's closed-source nature). It's gonna take a few weeks or more before Gateway releases their update, compared to NTR CFW which has managed to release their update within a day or two.

Can you use the Custom Version string in Luma to set up a fake 11.2.0-36 ????
Pretty sure Custom Version String is something like you can put "Emu3 11.2.0-35" or something like that, as for a "fake" 11.2.0 I'm assuming you mean emunand?

Gateway doesn't seem worth it tbh ;c

Glad I didn't jump on the GW bandwagon ages ago. Thought it was silly to pay for a proprietary chip that would take ages to update. Just limped along with Sky3DS for a while and then lost my 3DS, found it again and installed ReiNAND, then after a bit I got tired of monkeying with it so I just switched to Luma...a couple months ago?

That won't work, as the version has to match the NATIVE_FIRM version as well. If it doesn't, the system won't allow it to proceed any further in it's boot process.

Bootrom: I've just been powered on.
SVC: Okay then, let me load the ARM9 instructions on the NAND.
FIRM0: Alright, I'm currently loading my payloads.
FIRM1: Now loading my payloads.
SVC: Alright, let me load the ARM11 CPU and load the instructions from the NAND.
Home Menu: Hello, I would like to boot.
NATIVE_FIRM: Alright then. Hold on, we've had Home Menus being booted using a loophole previously. May I see your firmware version, please?
Home Menu: My firmware version is 11.2.0-35.
NATIVE_FIRM: Sorry, your firmware version is incorrect. Your access has been denied.

Google "NTR CFW", go to "releases" on github, download the newest one (2.5), and install it via FBI. Run it when you're in Luma SysNand and you'll be set to go. Make sure you run the 3.4 option in the Selector.
what exactly did you mean by "run it when you're in Luma SysNand" ? I don't quite understand what you meant by that. (Disclosure: been using CFW for under a day )

So you're getting "Error Code 003-4099" when trying to update, are you updating games themselves or the firmware or what?
That Error Code is for being unable to connect to the internet, a quick google found that. Make sure you're connected properly?
Hmm I'm connected properly... it downloads to 99% and when it tries to install, the error appears. Tried it twice, same thing happened. I manually downloaded the update from eshop. For now, I just cancelled the update and proceed to launch the game fine.

What I mean is, verify in the system settings that you're running Luma. It should say "Sys 11.2.0-35" if you are, or just "11.2.0-35" if not. When you're in Luma for sure, run the FBI CIA to install the BootNTR Selector (as the CIA has full administrative abilities, where the one in homebrew only has userland abilities and can install legit CIAs only). After you launch into BootNTR choose the 3.4 version to get the most updated form of it. It'll have things like Preview 3 running where as 3.2 I think still runs Preview 2.

That is most bizzare. Try installing FreeShop if you haven't already, then try updating through FreeShop (the SNES controller and ! next to the game in question) let me know if that works. I'm quite interested in finding out the cause of this.

is this the latest? https://github.com/44670/BootNTR/releases it says NTR CFW 3.4 Preview4. don't know if this is it cuz I remember you saying something about 2.5 or something along those lines

There are two different versions, 2.5 is the version number and is what is needed to run on 11.3 while 3.2 through 3.4 are different releases and have different things integrated into them. The link with 3.4 Preview 4 is the top one, so that's the most recent one. Install the CIA and launch the BootNTR Selector, if it launches with a version other than 2.5 in the corner restart the app holding X and it should update. I know it's confusing. If you don't have BootNTR Selector you can download it here. Hope this helps!

It's weird as freeshop doesn't show any updates. Seems like it's all updated.

Thanks a lot Nintendo for enhancing our user experience by not adding anything new. I will not be updating my Nintendo 3DS, but I still have several 3DS systems that need to be hacked which are all on 11.2 or lower. I should still be able to downgrade the systems to 2.1 like normal and then update to 11.3 using A9LH and Luma safely? I think I'd much rather stick with booting the NAND file back to 11.2 or whatever firmware is already being used and not upgrading to 11.3 at all.

How does safehax work anyway? Never understood...
https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/3DS_System_Flaws
SafeFirmHax
"SAFE_MODE_FIRM is almost never updated(even when NATIVE_FIRM is updated for vuln fixes), this can be noticed by just checking 3dbrew/ninupdates title-listings.
The fix for firmlaunch-hax was only applied to NATIVE_FIRM in 9.5.0-X, leaving SAFE_FIRM exploitable. With ARM11-kernel execution, one can trigger FIRM-launch in to SAFE_FIRM, do Kernel9 <=> Kernel11 sync, PXI sync and then repeat the original attack on SAFE_FIRM instead."
Patched on 11.3.0-X (?)

Nintendo just won't give up on the 3DS, even when the Switch is on the way...
3DS has like 10 games coming out soon + more to be announced (according to reggie)
They ain't gonna give up now just because of the switch lol.

Decided to run FBI on 11.3. It still works perfectly if anyone cares. If you already have CFW, Homebrew will not work neither if you use Soundhax or not.

Edit: Running Homebrew will NOT brick you but instead display a typical system error. It won't glitch your 3DS either. Don't worry about trying to run it for whatever reason.

I'm one of those Sysnand 9.2 + Luma users. (No, i won't get A9lh because i already have it on my second 3DS.) I'm currently using a 11.1 NFIRM and i'm on Emunand 11.2. Is it safe to update my Emunand after deleting the 11.1 NFIRM and instead getting the official 11.3?

EDIT: Updated my Emunand to 11.3 after deleting the NFIRM. Everything works fine. So it's safe for all fellow menuhax users to update!
