when I perform a NAND backup should I choose the minimal backup? What's the difference to the normal backup? What part of the NAND doesn't get backed up and why don't I need that part?

If you want to use Decrypt9 to backup, just use the min size, it should be 1.21GB on N3DS and less for O3DS/2DS

not everyone. you would be suprised who doesn't

It's not really a huge deal, but people are thinking it's like 9.2 all over again every time there's an update. This shouldn't be too big, just another "stability" fix. It's more involved sure, but smea's gonna figure it out. He always has, right?

I have Luma3DS + A9lh on my 2DS and updated to 11.3. After this I have stock 11.3. The sys in front of the system version is gone and I am not able to run anything but normal apps.
How could this update have broken my A9lh?

hold down start or select while booting... if nothing happens, check your sd card for the appropriate files.

they could do an hardware revision factory wise if they wanted though. (similar to the post 2008 (august or holiday i dont remember) wii revision).
true, but with this late in the 3ds lifecycle and the switch around the corner, they would get so little benefit from an entire hardware revision.

also likely nintendo will put out an end of life update that tries to fix a9lh but ends up bricking everyones consoles. jokes aside yea 3ds seems pretty end of life but nintendo says theyll still support it

The files are there, the select and start at boot have no luck. It still boots normal sysnand. Also without sd-card it should go into ctrnand, but that also doesn't work anymore.

Yes he has, though if it takes a while you can bet that there will be a Luma update that restores the old gspwn exploit and makes the current payloads work.

If you're not on the latest firmware, the answer is simple: CTR-HTTPWN
Use this to spoof the firmware so you can use (e.g.) Pokemon Bank. It should work fine, I got on Bank on the 11.2 firmware just fine.
