So, when I try to install a custom theme [and I put the zip file in the themes folder]
It says that there were none found. It tells me to press A to quit or press B to scan the SD.
Whenever I press B, it'll just say "Scanning SD" and will play an idle animation but never finish.
[I'm using soundhax with homebrew's CHMM2. 11.2, if that also helps.]

You need to unzip it.

He doesn't seem to be active on gbatemp anymore. but he did answer an issue opened on the github a few days ago.

I installed this through QR, and I don't know why, the app freezes on me a lot of times. When I press R, to go to the downloader, for example.

The downloader is broken and won't be fixed anymore. The developer is no long r working on it.

Broken how? It still works for me, minus that small thing, but for what I want, theme installing, it works.

"The downloader is broken". I'm pretty sure that is pretty clear. Nobody talked about the installer.

But yeah, the theme installer works fine, just the downloader is broken.

Yeah, that was my bad. I mean, the downloader itself. If the installer works and there won't be a problem with it, then I'm fine.

I was thinking of deleting the file responsible for loading the current theme off my SD card, but I'm not sure that would be safe or exactly which file that may be. I run Luma too, so if there's any Luma-specific things I could do to solve this, that'd be great, but I'm kind of at an impasse at the moment. Any help would be appreciated.

Remove SD card, insert SD card after 3ds finish booting, change theme. This is assuming you have ctr nand luma or another SD less cfw boot with latest a9lh.

I tried that and remembered that it won't boot unless I have the SD card in. It's the typical "follow the guide that everyone links" Luma build. Nothing special beyond that.

You can temporarily rename the Nintendo 3DS directory to something else and boot, then rename it back, change the theme and voila.

That typical follow the guide that everyone links to Luma build has a section talking about SD less boot under updating a9lh...The thing gnmmarechal said will work too.
