Hi,

I don't get if this is optional or not in order to boot ds rom from sd card ? I don't get if this is just in order to bring back the dsi menu or some deep important things.

Thank you !

I tried to launch megaman battle network 5 double team USA but it gives me a white screen (and it says it's a compatible game on the google doc)

QUOTE="Robz8, post: 7060594, member: 263852"]What screen?[/QUOTE]
I get stuck on a white screen after the ds menu appears

@Robz8 @GerbilSoft @umbjolt

I am working on a PR that will restructure the folders
I can't seem to get te banner/icon data to be stored as the gameID.bin instead of the .nds filename.

Could any of you make this change for me?

Thanks in advance

@bakawun I don't understand what are you requesting. What do you mean?

Edit: Oh, I see. Don't change that. Is better to store that info as .nds filename to make it easier to find a broken banner

@Aigle67 @xflamer234 do you have a donor rom set?

@zKin With TWLoader you can have roms from SD or flashcard. Is up to you ;)

We already store the boxart as titleid.png meaning we only need 1 file for the game on the flashcard, in slot1 or on the 3ds sdcard.
The bannericon data deserve the same treatment

It's already easy to find because the game ini file has the titleid in it.

Boxarts can be stored as filename.nds.png too

If we do that, twloader loading screen will last twice that now. I rather to have banner.bin as filename.
problem is you need 3 banner files for the situation i mentioned, game on flash, on sd and in slot1

There is no problem. And is better this way. If one of that "3" banner get damage, you can still using the other two. There's nothing wrong on that.

Also, what's happen with homebrew TID?
Most of them are identical and we can only identify by filename.

I will try to explain my point in a bit more detail and deal with the homebrew too.

For each unique game, there is 1 unique bannericon.bin
Each unique game, can be stored in many different formats and places (like on flashcard, as a real cart in slot1 or on the 3ds sdcard)
My suggestion is for the bannericon.bin to be stored only once, and be used by all /formats of the game.

Why?
Because it saves space on the 3ds SD card, and as a result wear and tear because fewer files are written and read
It saves time because twloader doesn't have to go through the process of creating a new, identical, banner file for each format of the game it runs into
If a bannericon is corrupted it needs to be repaired (even if you have 3 with different names a the corrupted one won't fall back to one of the others)

When it comes to titles sharing the same TID, which is indeed often the case with homebrew.
When we run into a shared TID we can use the internal name instead, or if that also fails the filename

@bakawun, again, we have to check more than one time banner list.

Sorry, but at least me ain't gonna implement that. If robz8 wants to do it, it's ok, but I rather to keep banners, icons and boxarts just in the way that's is working atm.

I don't think we do because the banner name is stored in the game.ini

Thats fair

What screen?
I fixed it now. I just downloaded it from my computer and put it on manually instead of updating it from the actual twl app

Does any of the Pokemon games work now with the latest release ?

if you want DSI Boot (Card only) theres the NTRLauncher by @Apache Thunder and technically this IS optional to boot from SD but every time you wanted a different game you haveto manually edit bootstrap.iniwith All the options, this does it for you.

Nice, the simplified Chinese translation for "please insert a cartridge to continue" is "请装一张游戏卡之后继续。”
