I seemed to have it working now but I still need help with filezilla to transfer folders

how do u mean? r they not transferring?

edit: I'm thinking the problem with filezilla may be that rn't using a static ip. that's y molecular shell/vita shell display the ip of ur system. filezilla has a static ip in mind which can be changed in the site's settings. u might try using a usb connection which is now possible, but u can only see ux0 I believe. I've never personally tried it though, so I can't speak about its performance.

They are transferring but I would like to not have to rename everything and save some time. But as long as they are working I'm happy. ...now only would like account swapper to install since my Vita is 2nd hand. But I have the offline method so hopefully as long as I stay offline there shouldn't be any problems.

I need to rename everything in the folder if I'm copying it with qcma to mp4 to transfer. So far don't know any other way to add files on my Vita. And I already installed the off henkaka installer. I need to stay offline since my Vita is still connected to the person I bought it from so I can keep my games on the other memory card.

well, I can tell u a little about those files. the system.dreg contains ur psn id, password, most (if not all) user settings, and is required for license activation. the system.ireg is needed in order to decrypt the system.dreg. the act.dat is used to activate ur psn content by using the rif (licensing) files that u might've seen on ur memory card. the id.dat is a file on the memory card that contains things like firmware, and some other information germane to ur system. I believe it's the file that prevents u from installing newer firmware content on to lower firmware, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

OK so I got account swapper to work finally & got everything working...except filezilla won't connect to my Vita. I put in all the numbers with the '.' As is before the '/' since that's the port & nothing. Keeps saying error trying to reconnect.

go into site manager, input ur ip, and port, leave all other sections default. now, try to connect. maybe it's ur filezilla install. that's what I use, and I don't recall having these ftp issues.

henkaku installed molecularShell 1.43
Is that right? Shouldn't it be VitaShell?

I cannot create a folder from within molecularShell or by using ftp.
I downloaded the VitaShell.vpk but I cannot transfer any files using ftp.

What do I do? Every website just says "install vitashell instead"

Also, after a reboot I cannot open molecularShell, I need to install again.

u need to install the vpk of vita shell. molecular shell installs when u install henkaku. that's normal. also, u need to press start and enable unsafe homebrews to have full access in vita shell. lastly, each reboot does in fact require u to reinstall. there's an install button in molecular shell outside of the app itself.

I got it. I had tried to enable unsafe homebrew and reboot but it didn't work. The reboot must be done through the molecularShell menu option, not using the power button.

How does one activate the PS Vita (3.60 Henkaku), exactly? The (old) guide provided at the start is non-descript and sorely lacking vital information (I assume you have to go into the content manager which isn't stated in the guide, for example.) I'm currently stuck on using Qcma to display an error message on the Vita and then connecting it to a PS3 system to transfer content, which so far has just resulted in the update nag.

It's kind of sad really since this small guide fails to even help a noob activate their PS Vita. If it can be revised or stated that it doesn't work you should do as such in the OP. EDIT: It seems you need to have both the PC and Vita's wifi off and reset the Vita, then try the method.

Erm, excuse me but there is pretty much only 1 way to properly activate a lower firmware Vita, and that is through a PS3, and nothing more. Period.

What more do you want out of the activation guide? There's really nothing more to it...

I'm not bashing the method of the guide at all, nor am I saying there's an alternative way. What I mean is that the guide doesn't contain sufficient information to achieve its goal. To give a metaphorical comparison, if I wrote down instructions on how to put peanut butter and jam on bread as "Place peanut butter and jam on bread", that's just as descriptive as telling someone to place a jar of peanut butter and jam on top of a loaf of bread.

It of course should be a no brainer to someone who's done it how you're supposed to do it, but to someone who's reading solely off of instructions there's a lot missing, so how should they know what to do? This is the ultimate noob guide for PS Vita/TV hacking, isn't it? You talk in your guide about transferring content; okay, how? It's never explained in steps how to get up to the point where you can transfer content in your guide. Plus resetting the system with airplane mode on helps in case those who try the method find out it doesn't work such as myself. I wasn't getting the error message until I restarted the system in airplane mode, something which the guide fails to mention.

TL;DR The guide needs a revision to contain more steps and more information, else how are you going to help noobs properly?

How do I get a PSP demo for Adrenaline onto my Vita TV using a PS3?
Do I need the vita update blocker proxy or will taihenkaku version spoofing work to avoid any update nags?

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
