Starting by being honest here, I haven't played a pokemon game in over 10 years, the last one i could remember was 2 games on GBA, pokemon sapphire and Leaf Green. Sapphie was 3rd gen and leaf green was remake of first gen i guess? (Correct me if i am wrong) So i guess you can say i have not done much of this series, but since the latest one has sparked some intrest for me, i'm willing to give it another try. But i have some questions i hope can be answered. They may sound silly but i hope you can help. Spoilers are also welcome, cause basically it will help convince me to wanna play this game.
  1. Are rare candies still in the game?
  2. Is there a difference in stat boost between using Rare candies and battling pokemon? (I thought so but never confirmed this.
  3. Chansey is known to carry a lucky egg that when held by pokemon, it increases EXP gain, is that still a thing?
  4. Using traded pokemon will not obey you on higher levels until a specific badge is gained, is that still a thing?
  5. Traded pokemon will gain EXP faster than your standard caught pokemon, is that still a thing?
  6. Do pokemon still require trades to evolve? Do they also require specific items as well like have them hold it or using evolution stones?
  7. Is gaining exp for weak pokemon easier? (There was two common ways to do this which either required a exp share item to be held for the pokemon or swapping pokemon during battle which i hated cause of dividing EXP.
  8. Can pokemon forget Hidden moves?
  9. Are there any new types i dunno about since the games newer than Sapphire?
  10. Are pokemon contest still a thing? Do we still have to pick berries from trees, grow them using a realistic time setting of day and night transitions and do berry mixing for whatever reason? (It was for appealing judges in contest.)
  11. Opinions on difficulty for this game?
  12. Are there any mini games?
  13. Is fishing for pokemon with a rod still part of the game?
  14. Are repel items still part of the game? (To avoid fighting when i don't want to.)
  15. Are there any new HM?
  16. Are the secret bases still a thing?
  17. Is there better way to earn money than just fighting trainers over and over or selling unwanted items?
  18. Are master balls still part of the game and if yes, are there more than 10 at least? (Cause i remember them not being as much and catching strong pokemon ESPECIALLY LEGENDARY is not easy without them.)
  19. Is there extra content regarding side quest after winning pokemon league?
  20. What new stuff can i expect in this game?
  21. Any glitches? Don't care what they are, small or huge just curious. (I still remember Missingno/infinite items/catch all pokemon glich back in Pokemon blue.
So far those are the ones i can think of at the moment, and maybe will add more later. No one person has to answer all of them in one post, you can pick any of the ones you know well and confident about and answer.

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. I believe so, but Chansey aren't in the Alola Pokedex.
4. Yes.
5. Yes.
6. Yes and some do.
7. The Exp. Share is still a thing, except it reverts back to its Gen I days and gives the whole party experience.
8. In Sun/Moon, there are no HMs. The HMs are now TMs, so yes.
9. Fairy-types. It's super effective against Fighting and Dark, and is weak against Steel and Poison.
10. No Contents, no berry picking. Berries can be obtained through the Poke Pelago.
11. I overall enjoyed Sun and Moon. There's one fight against a boss kinda late in the game that gave me a bit of trouble.
12. Festival Plaza and Poke Pelago can technically be considered mini-games...?
13. Yes.
14. Yes.
15. No new HMs in Sun/Moon.
16. No.
17. Not really.
18. Yes and there's only 1 Master Ball.
19. There's a whole bunch of sidequest stuff in Sun/Moon's post-game.
20. Z-Moves, Mega Evolutions are post-game, Battle Royals, Battle Tree (similar to the Battle Tower in Sapphire), Fairy-types (introduced in X&Y), Poke Rides (replaces HMs, you'll obtain them throughout the story), Ultra Beasts (you'll also learn about them in the story), no Gyms. Gyms are replaced by Trials.
21. I can't recall any glitches, or at least any game-breaking ones such as Missingno. or any of the famous Gen I glitches.

Rare candies are still a thing I believe, its not exp egg but exp share that gives your whole party exp now, some Pokémon still evolve by trade, don't think gen 7 uses HMs anymore, fairy type is new, contests don't exist in these ones but they do in ORAS,master balls are still a thing, there are post game stuff but I won't spoil that for you ;), plenty of new stuff to discover yourself, game is quite fun and easy as long as you level grind, pokemon not obeying unless you have so many trial stamps done, any glitches there were got fixed in 1.1 update I believe.

What are trial stamps? Are they like badges to enter pokemon league and face elete four?
Its a new system the game uses, they did away with gyms and made a trial system where you fight 3 totem Pokémon after doing these little trials, after you fight the totem pokemon on the island you then fight the kakuna where you get the trial stamp afterwards. There are 4 islands and 7 or 8 trial stamps to collect which afterwards you unlock the elite four.
