I do know it worked before, but the thread with the proof is buried among the thousands of threads :/

There's a bright side in this though, this helped the community understand what will happen if you upgrade to 4.X without A9LH, making us evade it as much as possible.

For now, do this. Tell him to backup the NAND in multiple places, His PC, Cloud, etc

If the NAND backup gets lost, he can retrieve it again

Nothing involving Ninjhax2 will work, it needs 9.0+ since it uses some stuff that came on that firmware

You're only bet is you to edit Soundhax to launch Ninjhax1(you would need a lot of coding experience and find the lost Ninjhax1 files) and from there boot Decrypt9, and I'm pretty sure that's gone for a reason...

Nope, OOThax came just when Ninjhax 2 came out, I know this because OOThax was born after Tubehax and Ironhax were released. The one your thinking is Cubic Ninja, but the Ninjhax1 file are long gone, including the QR codes. And didn't Ninjhax1 at least needed the browser?

OK i remember now what you mean, the Exploit does work on 4.X, it's the homebrew launcher that doesn't(and the payload too, which it's basically what's used to launch the homebrew launcher)

Turns out updating from cart to 4.x keeps the browser, it's only certain firmwares that don't have it - he's gonna find somewhere with free wifi and restore the nand.

Question, you don't remember an old thread of someone who randomly ended on 2.1 with a broken browser, and a lot of people had to enter and do a lot of stuff to fix it?

I ask since you have been in the forums longer than me, but I don't think a lot of people remember this :/

For anyone that does not understand his internet connection problems, wifi on the bases use a captive portal.

The 3ds will not connect to a network that does not have an active internet connection. Since there is no internet until the portal loads and you agree to the terms the 3ds will not connect.

I have ran into this problem a few times. If he's anywhere near Yokosuka I can help him out.

If he has a smartphone he could tether his 3ds to that, or to a friends phone for a few minutes.
