This is good! You now have arm9loaderhax installed. Continue the guide normally. I believe at this point you restore your NAND backup.

why A9LH? whats so special about it aren't all custom firmwares ok? don't they do the same basic things? but with differences here and there?

A9LH isn't a custom firmware. It's the best way to load custom firmware (e.g. Luma3DS, which is highly recommended). It's also highly recommended that one install A9LH if he or she hasn't done so already.

A9LH is an ARM9 entrypoint that triggers right at boot time before the 3DS system software loads. It's not a CFW, it's a way to load CFWs (and other ARM9 payloads).

It's frankly the only sane CFW entrypoint you should use long term. You have to downgrade to 2.1.0 to get the OTP to install it, but that's a one-time thing and isn't a big deal so long as you know how to follow directions. You are on 2.1.0 for a few minutes, at which point you install A9LH and restore your NAND back to 11.2 (or whatever version you were on).
