With the new soundhax, users on 11.2 can now access the homebrew launcher without a game. Now getting prepared for the fasthax release. I have a few questions about everything.

  • Will you need any 4 of those removed DSiware games for fasthax?
  • What all can be done with homebrew launcher and a copy of sudoku?
  • Can we install legit cias on 11.2 with this?

1) Yes
  • Fieldrunners
  • Legends of Exidia
  • Guitar Rock Tour
  • The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords (Anniversary Edition)
3) Yes

Could you install a DSiWare exploitable game from that *SITE* to be able to inject the save via Soundhax's homebrew with the *hax .3dsx?

No, as you'd only able to install legit .cia files, of which there are none for DSiWare titles.

The method will be identical to this one, using fasthax in place of waithax and will hence work on 11.2.0 and require one of the four removed DSiWare games. A new method using other DSiWare titles may become available in the future.

Do you know WHY the downgrades don't work with any but these four specific titles though? It seems odd to me that downgrade works fine with other titles when doing a system transfer, but single system downgrade can only do it with four games that have all been pulled. Why hasn't there been a release yet to make it compatible with more DSiWare. And is it realistic to expect a release in which those titles are not required?

I've wondered the same, it's such bullshit. :/

1. only for downgrade
2. k7 exploit
3. any k11 exploit should be able to install legit cias (ones signed by nintendo) as any k9 exploit should be able to well... everything

Because they have R/W Access but other DSiWare for some reason dont have as much privileges so Waithax/Fasthax cant be used.

Because they are the only DSiWare games that have exploits in how they handle their save data. The "almost any dsiware game" method injects a save file from one of those games (sudokohax, exidiahax, or 4swordshax), and hence requires more than an arm11 exploit. That's why we need to system transfer from another 3DS that already has CFW because we need to use GodMode9 to inject the hax.

So tl;dr unless Nintendo releases a new DSiWare title that has as much R/W access (they wont) then the current single system DG method cannot be used with other games - ever?

This is entirely false.

Someone would have to find an exploit in another (already existing) DSiWare game that is the same as that in Legends of Exidia, Four Swords, Fieldrunners etc. I imagine if there were one it would have been found by now.

How isnt it? Explain why other games arent so exploitable then?
The whole save injection is simply a save exploit to access HBL while under R/W access privileges.

@Xiphiidae already did.

All dsiware titles have rw nand access. However the title needs to have an exploit (that can be exploited via its save) for this access to be granted to the user. Those 4 titles were exploited back in the dsi-era I believe.

This is correct all DSIWare games have potential NAND access, their are only 4 current titles that have public exploits.
K11 allows for the writing of save data to DSIWare games (Save injection), however it can't access the actual game data, you need to have ARM9 (at the moment).
