Hacking Mario Kart 8 freezing

Just installed Mario Kart 8 (the game, update and DLC) on sysnand (latest haxchiFW) with CBHC and when launching, it freezes on the splash screen.

What am I doing wrong? My console is EUR and the game is USA although that should not make any difference now, am I right?

I've noticed the same thing only vice-versa, when trying to play certain EUR games on my USA console.

AFAIK it has to do with values in the app.xml and cos.xml differing from what your console expects, and so it locks up even with region patches. Don't quote me on that though.

Oh thanks, I couldn't find anything related after searching the forums, I thought that maybe I was the only one experiencing it.

In this situation, can I patch the game manually?

Only thing I can suggest is to try finding a EUR update for the game in question, extracting the app.xml and cos.xml from it, and overwriting the ones installed using FTPiiU or something similar. I can't guarantee you that will work though.

By the way, why not just download the EUR version of Mario Kart 8? I can assure you it's all available online (game, update, and DLC) as I'm staring at the title keys for them at the time of writing this.

Yeah, I know it is, it's the one I play, I was just curious.
Also, it's just an old habit of preferring the old NTSC games, even though now it doesn't make any difference.
