ok hi everbody,
I got an iPhone 5c from my sister who just replaced the screen and now it over heats really quick-like.
But a bit of back story, my sister cracked her iPhone and THOUGHT, yes Thought she could replace it,
and then while she was replacing it she saw smoke coming from it, so she closed it up put every thing back where it was, then she went to aT&T the guy just told her it was broken
(she didn't try to turn it on again), so she got the new iPhone 6.
Now we some how got it we she came back to visit and now when you turn it on, you can use it for a little bit then it over heats, almost unresponsive to any touch on the screen, and ghost touches.
I honestly don't know what I should replace, maybe the battery?
I'm gonna dismantle it soon, and then do a test to see whats overheating.

If there is smoke and overheating then chances are something is shorted and burned out, which is not good as you will tend to remove batteries for repair purposes (not sure about the 5c off the top of my head but I will take the bet anyway). You can try to figure out what was broken if you want, or if it works for your purposes then maybe find the short and sort it.

For the most part though I would consider it toasted and carry on with life. There is probably enough info out there to fix it and maybe you will get lucky and find a fuse or something popped but I would not approach it expecting to have a working phone again.

You might check the battery first. It is possible the smoke came from the battery in the first place.
Ya I'm pretty sure when she was replacing it she DIDNT take out the battery connector,(She's that type of person)
so ill replace the battery, and see what happens.
