Yep, until you install CFW + Homebrew Menu CIA or find another exploit.

(Someone correct me if I'm wrong) but I think you can use your existing entry point (menuhax) to install oothax into the digital version, though perhaps not since OOT got the PASLR treatment in 11.0.

My recommendation is to get Freakyforms Deluxe though instead, since hasn't yet been added to the PASLR list (it's added in 11.1).

Surely running Mario Maker through HANS/regionfour allows you to bypass the update requirement though, no?

Have you tried running Mario Maker through HANS? I doubt the 11.1 update is actually necessary for the game.

I do have access to a physical copy of OoT, and spending 20$ on a game for the Freakyhax isnt really something i want to do. Going to Try to use this Hans Method to play Mario Maker before i go any further.

You have access to the homebrew launcher via menuhax correct? Use crt-httppwn (the name is something like that)

It'll give you access to the EShop from your version. Make sure to look at https://3ds.guide/dsiware-list to make sure the dsiware you get is compatible. Just buy anyone that meets this criteria and you are good to go.
