Hacking DSiWare Downgrade with almost ANY DSiWare Game!

they can't do that since the games don't have an exploit themselves its a flaw in the 3ds update so if you overwrite the app and the sav with sudoku hax and keep it the same file size it was it will transfer to the other 3ds and you will be able to downgrade it they will probs patch it with a system update so it checks the bytes to see if its the correct app file

Are all the japanese dsiware games on freeshop still available on the legit japanese eshop? I tried two JPN dsiware games with these method and im able to boot dgTool on my hacked 3ds. Im asking since I have 2 brand new 3ds xl's (JPN) and I want to modify them. The games that i tried are UNO and @SIMPLE DS Vol.5(It has japanese character so I cant type it all lol)

I can test a lot(Or anyone with access to freeshop since it's very easy), the only thing that's stopping me on contributing to the list is I don't know if it's available on eshop since I search FieldRunners and Legends of Exidia in freeshop and they are still available XD.

If it boot, technically the official game should work too. Just check on the eshop if the game is there, if not, try a new with freeshop,... repeat...

Im specifically looking for japanese dsiware games, I'll try searching for it in JPN eshop once im at my house and report back. Or someone might be able to confirm if both of the games that i tried is still on eshop.

Booting the injected game and it surviving a system transfer are two different things.

but as long as the dsiware game that we download has below requirements, it's safe right? Or this method is still untested?

Submissions should have a .app size greater than or equal to 3,457,024 bytes and a public.sav greater than or equal to 81,920 bytes

Yup but it doesn't harm to test if it boot that way.
Testing with system transfer is another thing, that's why I plan on buying some DSiWare to test and complete the list.
That way, I will check for unespected errors too.

Well if the guide is correct, then the 2 games I mentioned is a candidate. The only question is, the eshop availability and would it survived the system transfer. I will be testing it out later.

Damn I have 3 legit titles with a large enough .app but none has a large enough public.sav, that would have been perfect to downgrade my future 3DS (current one I'm hyperbanned, can't buy a compatible title). Oh well, gotta wait and see.

Kinda wondering if a different exploit game could be injected. Maybe some have larger .app files but much smaller saves. Hmm.
