I managed to get 99 Zygarde Cells. Already triple-checked and the only one that's missing for me is the cell on Poni Grove (the one that's before the three Resolution Cave cells). I searched the whole area and couldn't find it (Day and night). Any idea where it might be?
So you also seem to be affected by this %99 bug.
I've done the same as OP, and I too, can't seem to find the last Zygarde cell as well. I've followed the Serebii Guide TEN TIMES, and on the last time I checked EVERY LOCATION during BOTH the Day and the Night. Nothing.
I did not come across the Zygarde Cell that I missed at all.
Google searching for "pokemon moon zygarde core glitch" lead me to a GameFAQs thread about this same issue.
In case people think it's Anti-Piracy, the OP used an official cartridge. They even started a new save, a few times, maintained a checklist, etc, etc. POKEMON MOON HAS A PROGRESS-BREAKING BUG WITH ZYGARDE CELLS
There is one cell at the left of aether paradise that only appears at night. It gave me alot of trouble, since no guide mentioned that it was night only. try that.
I had the same issue, then yesterday the last cell randomly appeared opposite the Thrifty Mart (despite me checking the spot at least twenty times, day and night). This time I could clearly see the shadow and effect, so it was definitely not spawning before.
In save file: location 1D8C ~ 1E49: Zygarde Cells Collected
Data Length = 190 bytes (0xBE) @ 2 bytes per cell = 95 cells total
Values:
0x0200 = Have Collected
0x0100 = Not Collected?
0x0000 = Don't Show? (before Cube collected?)
Note sure the address for the 'CORE' (purple) ones are located
but there is only 5 of them so its not really that important as
you can easily check the 5 'CORE' locations if you have all the cells.
edit: Maybe this can get added to PKHex as well once the location list
is made so people can check which cells they are missing.
edit2: locations 1D42 and 1D52 changed from 0x63 to 0x64.
This is possibly the number of cells collected / total cells in your cube?
I too had 99 collected, can couldn't find the last one, went through the list
on serebii at least 5 times, day and night, when I found the cell i was missing
I exported my save, went back in game and collected it and exported my save again.
edit3: going to try and make a location list of which address in the save is which cell, will post here when done.
1E40 - 91 - B2F - Right Hallway
1E42 - 92 - 1F - Outside - Right Side
1E44 - 93 - 1F - Outside (Day)
1E48 - 94 - 1F - Main Building
1E46 - 95 - 1F - Entrance (Night)
---
edit4: finally, all Done, if anyone wants to add this info into PKHEX feel free to do so, I recommend
doing read-only, as there may be other 'flags' that get set when you pick up the cores.
edit5: attached a "cell_check.txt" (rename to "cell_check.py") its a python 2.7 script.
place it in a folder with your exported 'main' save and double click the script / run it with python
It will report to you which cells you are missing and the locations of them.
you can use the guide on serebii (it has pictures) to help you find them
updated my previous post with all the locations of each cell and its offset in the save file and also a very
basic python script you can use with your exported 'main' save file to check which cells you are missing.
edit: its a python 2.7 script
I'll try the method that c4388354 developed. Either way, I'm gonna follow a Tipo from a person on Reddit to enter Hyperspace from Canyon Peak. It'll take you to an alternate reality in which it doesn't matters if it's day or not, you'll be able to get all Zygarde cells (Counting that there's no bug, just excluding day/night exclusiveness).
I know this is a bit off-topic, but where do I find Looker after I captured the 4 Kartanas?
updated my previous post with all the locations of each cell and its offset in the save file and also a very

Does this tool fix the bug or just tell you which one you're missing? Because I know which one I don't have, it's just not appearing there. Maybe I'm lucky, but this is the first bug I've ever experienced in a Pokémon game.
