in the end, the retail version released today is also Ver 0...
so the bann has nothing to do with the version 0 /16/32 ?
0 = Retail Cart
32 = Eshop Sun
16 = Eshop Moon

People, the bans have NOTHING to do with the version you used or whatever. People were banned for going online before the release date. Not only that, but the servers can distinguish between a physical cart and a digital copy. People that only used physical carts are the lucky ones, they can call Nintendo and show them proof. People who used the .cia, you're out of luck. It is absolutely, 100% impossible to have had a digital copy before the release date without pirating, and when they go to look up your information they'll know that.

It had everything to do with the version. Nintendo could ban you because of the following reasons: (AND I DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE THINK NINTENDO ONLY USED 1 METHOD TO BAN PEOPLE. THEY CAN USE A COMBINATION OF ALL OF THEM).
- The leaked CIA had version as 0. Therefore it was obvious that you pirated the leak and used it as CIA instead of a cart.
- Also, by playing via CIA before the game was released on Eshop, you basically told Nintendo that you were a pirate (you cannot have an Eshop game before release unless you pirate it).
- Nintendo also banned people for playing early before release date, retail cart or not.

Aight thanks, is version 0 safe or is version 32 the one i'm looking for?
It does not matter. I have a legit cart of the game and it is version 0.

You will not get banned if you play ANY of the versions if the game is released in accordance to the 3ds region. That means, you are safe in NA/AUS/Japan as this time of this post of you did not connect online prior to the release of the game. You WILL be banned if you go online using an EUR 3DS until the 23rd.

lol. I looked for a while, but couldn't find an answer. Has anyone gone online today with the leaked cart drop?

Now people finally realize that both are perm bans but when I said that before, it might be impossible.
it is not confirmed that both are perma bans, where's your proof if it is? don't spread false info, the situation is already getting out of hand thanks to people adding and spreading false news.

oh yea.. so if we play the same leaked CIA now, it would be safe right?
assuming the leaked Ver0 is same as todays cart Ver0?
so right now, it doesnt matter ver 0/16/32, all of em is legit now?

Both are permanent bans and confirmed several times in emails when you contact them, open your damn eyes to realize the truth!

No
The cart version is 0, and CIA version is either 16 or 32
So if you play by CIA, your version needs to be 16/32.
