Triple check which line you modify before sending the file to the WiiU and you will be fine. Try this on rednand before if you have one ;)

Be sure to have a good text editor too (Notepad++ by example)
I'd recommend to use the script in my signature link, it does xml editing in memory and has enough checks.

Nice it worked perfect on SysNAND. Already enjoying some EUR games on my (WAS USA) system.

What's odd is that it even downloads the game update for a EUR game! I thought I was going to have to install it with wup installer manually, but nope!

I wonder if we could make the Wii U change region this way?
don't do that. Already a brick reported because someone changed console region instead of game region. First and foremost, you don't have the proper firmware (system) files installed for the other region...

So, with this method I can turn my sysnand region free without entering everytime on cfw booter and fw.img?

Only with valid tickets. Homebrew and fakesigned stuff (like things from eshop that don't have a disc version) still require iosu. But... if you have $10 to spare, buy brain Age or Wario Ware Touched, and use haxchi. I currently use brainage to launch HBL, and wwtouched to directly launch Fix94's iosu.

'Twas a suggestion, not a "lets try this!" - I dont have time or effort to do that ;)

Any chance you are clued up on where to find the bit in the code that makes the screen red during loading? I'd love to be able to make it black as it's blinding at night.
I would like to know this as well. The white screen is really off putting and also I get a small glitch of a line in the wiiu screen on loading, which doesn't help either.

Not really. If you want a guess, then: \wupserver\source\main.c line 176

Edit: can't be bothered to try, but my confidence level is above 80%. text.h only calls for a u32 color as an argument. Although... shouldn't ff0000ff be blue?

Sorry your on about Rednand booter I was on about homebrew screen, that's off putting as well with the white screen it blinds you.

RGBA
FF(red) 00 00 FF (alpha, transparency)
(sometime it's reversed, ABGR, but I think it's RGBA)
Thanks to both of you, I did look there but must've missed it somehow.

*snip*
please don't share fw.img files here.

I think not only games will be region free but updates games too because of this EUR updates are auto, so no risk to brick.
@Cyan
But we can take photo, acess Miiverse and post photo?

no idea about miiverse.
I think Miiverse's page is accessed with a game code in the meta.xml, but I'm not sure I never tried.
so it should still access the correct miiverse page for that game's original region, not based on your console's region.

update's URL are based on the titleID, so it downloads the update for the correct game's region too.

Here is question SOMEONE in this thread may already have answered to in multitude of ways but basically:
I am planning to get IOSUHAX SysNAND running on my MAIN Wii U to do this modification. Otherwise, leaving it without CFW running most of the time. If I install legit Brazilian method JPN games, (or even US though I have NO reason to) - They should INSTALL without problem, as well as run without one, no?

If you install with a modded signed ticket then yeah should work and lauch without sig patches, of course if they are eshop only games or you want (unlegit) DLC for them sig patches are required to run them
