Every time I try to install a Wii U game, I always get this error:

"Error: Not a version title or a game update"

How to fix? I used New NUSgrabber to download the game; and added the ticket file within the install folder. Don't know what to do as it seems I did everything right..

Never mind; I managed to solve the problem. I just had to update WUP Installer to the latest version (1.2.1) through the Homebrew App Store. Thanks for the suggestion though, @ItsKipz . I'll probably go back to this thread and use that method as a backup if nothing else works for me in the near future.

Hi

I'm having similar problems I am also using WupInstaller 1.2.1 Y Mod.

I cannot install some games others install OK however.

Install of title 00000000-00000000 failed
Install
Error: not a game, game update, dlc, demo or version title

I have been getting this same error whilst trying to install several different games.

Any ideas why ?

Wii U is version 5.5.1 E

If so you need sigpatches to install.

Along with the "Install of title 00000000-00000000 failed" error, I am also seeing this one as well:

Error MCP_InstallGetInfo 0xFFFBF3E2

I have ordered another new SanDisk 64GB SD card, as I suspect my "new" 32GB Kingston SD card is faulty as it keeps losing files stored on there, which isn't helping matters.

So how do you know which games require rednand ?

I assume these are none disc titles? As the USB install method with sysnand only works with titles that were released on disc is that correct ?

Reading a bit about rednand setup, I don't think I will be trying it, looks too complex for a newbie like myself.

Thanks

Got the second new SD card today and its still not working, I am still getting the error:

Install of title 00000000-00000000 failed
Install
Error: not a game, game update, dlc, demo or version title

Even though all the files are in the Install folder on the SD card.

Happening on a lot of games for me, I've updated the list further up the thread above.

DKJF download was 10.8GB and had 71 files including the .tik

I've been using a Windows 10 PC to add the files to the SD card and even with this new SD card files just seem to disappear off the card sometimes for some unknown reason.

Will try using the iMAC instead.

Make sure there are no ™ ® é in the name of the games

Yep there are NOT any special characters in the folder names.

I have either just been putting them in to the root of the "install" directory also tried with capital I as well "Install".

And I have also tried sub-folders like

E:\Install\game 1
\game 2

Thanks

Do you have WUPInstaller y Mod v1.2.1?

Yes that is the version I am using.

If using my Apple iMAC computer instead of the Windows 10 PC to add the games files on to the SD card (SanDisk 64GB),

WUPInstaller then starts loading the files onto the the Wii U's USB hard drive and I now no longer get the Install of title 00000000-00000000 failed error.
So maybe something funky with Windows 10 and loading the games files to the SD card ?

However WUPInstaller never completes and sometimes gets to say 50% and then I get a message about formatting the SD card with 32K clusters which it is already. The new WUPInstaller error code is: 0xFFFFF825

Also WUPInstaller stopped / bombed out several times, with the Wii U saying the USB storage had been disconnected, I have now disabled the sleep mode on the Wii U for the USB storage so that should help there hopefully. I also tried several different USB ports on the Wii U to connect the hard drive.

Next I am going to try using the Kingston 32GB SD card on the iMAC instead to load the games files to that SD card. And try the WUPInstaller again.

The USB hard drive is a 3.5" 500GB Seagate I think, in an external caddy which has its own power source etc.

I tried again five times with the smaller 32GB SD card to load a game, Super Smash Bros. (13.2GB) but four times I got the following message:

"The USB Storage device has been disconnected.
Press and hold the POWER Button for at least four seconds to turn the console off, then make sure the device is connected properly.

If the problem persists, the USB storage device may not be receiving enough power. Please use an AC adapter or USB Y cable, as applicable.

Error Code: 160-2713."

The WUPInstaller got to around 51% two times then bombed.

I don't understand why the externally powered hard drive would disconnect whilst files are actually being loaded on to it from the SD card? Unless the WUPInstaller app being run does then not allow the Wii U to keep the disk spun up for long enough to copy all the files? Although I have disabled USB storage sleep mode.

On the fifth attempt I got the 0xFFFFF825 error again. The exact error is:

"Install of title 00050000-10145000 failed.
install
Error: install error code 0xFFFFF825
Possible bad SD card. Reformat (32k blocks) or replace."

It seems the games we have successfully loaded previously on to the USB hard drive, have been smaller in file size overall. I would say the largest game we have loaded OK was Mario Kart 8 at 4.10GB.

EDIT: Just tried Rayman Legends its 6.84GB. It got to 99% and then gave the 0xFFFFF825 error. So close! Tried a second time and it did the same thing at 99%.

This really isn't working with larger size game titles !!

Thanks

Do not use Kingston class 10 microSD cards. They simply don´t work. I tried several 16gb, 32gb and 64gb cards and formatted them in 32k, 64k and even in 8k blocks, with no luck. SanDisk 64gb and 16GB class 10 worked flawlessly.

Plenty have people have easily installed 10-20G games without issue.
The problem is something on your end
Redownload with Wii U USB helper. Also what type of hard drive are you using? If it does not have an external power supply, you may be overburdening the WIi U's power.

On Windows there is a tool named FreeFileSync that can check the cotent of files then copy the corrupted files, it is not like rsync but it help when you have data corruption and you don't know which file is corrupted

For a title the size of the TIK file should be at least 847 bits and you must find the title ID at the offset 0x1DC (8bits).

Each times I'd got an error with official content it was a corruption issue

Hi guys

Thanks for the tips I will try your suggestions. Although I am not sure how to do this?

"For a title the size of the TIK file should be at least 847 bits and you must find the title ID at the offset 0x1DC (8bits)."

The hard disk is a 500GB Seagate in a 3.5" external self powered caddy.

I have a 64GB Sandisk SD card so will try that again instead of the 32GB Kingston one. @Teknoplay thanks for the heads up about the Kingston cards being problematic.

I called Microsoft support about the SD card issues I've been having, as Windows 10 appears to sometimes corrupt the data on the card and game files I have copied to the card just vanish sometimes. All they suggested was changing the Autoplay settings for "removable drive" and for the "memory card" in Control panel, from "take no action" to "open folder to view files (File Explorer)" and to also scan the PC and SD card for viruses, which none were detected. Can't see this doing anything, but so far the Sandisk card has been behaving itself in Windows 10.

Seems I don't have this issue of vanishing files when I use an iMAC instead to copy the files on to the SD card, but I still do get errors when trying to install some of the larger game titles using WUPInstaller.

I've now installed the WiiU USB Helper program on the Windows 10 PC as @Yardape8000 suggested, which looks great! I used the URL to that website.

As a test, I moved a game I previously downloaded (Rayman Legends) with nusgrabber.exe into the WiiU USB Helpers download folder: \\SERVER\Games\WiiU\DATA\EUR\GAMES

I then selected the Rayman Legends game in the WiiU USB Helper library section and it stated: "Download Complete, ready to install".

I then used the Copy to SD option in the WiiU USB Helper program and it then successfully verified the download and copied the game files to the SD card.

Copy Report at the end said OK.

Using WUPInstaller UF Mod 1.1.1 I was finally able to install Rayman Legends successfully! I tried many times previously to install that same game with no luck.

I am now downloading again Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze via WiiU USB Helper, which is much larger in size at 10.8GB will see if it installs this large game next ? Which will be the real test.

Thanks
